Hi!

I moved to canada on February 1st 2018 on a working holiday Visa. Moved in with my boyfriend, we applied for the sponsorship on February 1st 2019. Around april 2019 we got the sponsorship back, missing some documents. We applied the missing documents within all the other paperwork. I quit my job on March 3rd, 2019. When we got the sponsorship returned I didnt changed my work permit, should I have changed my work permit and said I quit my job on March 3rd 2019? I'm not sure if this is a problem. I did quit before I got the sponsorship returned, but never changed it in my open work permit. I'm also wondering if I still would get my open work permit since we resubmitted the application? We send our application back on april 29th, 2019, but havent heard anything back yet.

Could anyone answer these questions?
Thank you !

It expired on February 2nd 2019.
My biggest concern is whether I'm allowed to stay inside of canada or not.. even though we resubmitted our application.. and if I still have a chance of getting my open work permit?

you are out of status if your application and your OWP were returned. And you only sent the new application and OWP in April.
And I think it's over 90 days... so you cannot apply to restore your status any more....
You are now out of status. You will need to wait till AIP to apply for OWP... (which is very close to PR DM)
Other members may have more ideas what else to do.

Stupid question but what does AIP and PR DM means?
We got the application back on april 5th, and we sent it back on april 29th.

We havent gotten anything back yet, from the last time we resubmitted the application. The first time we sent it in my work permit was still valid. The 2nd time we sent it in my work permit wasnt valid anymore. But it would be weird to me if I'm not allowed to stay until i hear something back. This is what they send back to us last time and we got all those documents and send it out again.

" your application is being returned to you because you did not provide the required employment and/or source of support documents.

If you are working in Canada, provide an original letter from your current employer stating your period of employment, salary, and regular hours per week. AND one of these documents issued by the Canada Revenue Agency:

* your most recent notice of assessment which must include line 150 (total income) or;
* proof of income statement (option c) .

If you cannot provide a NOA or option C for the most recent taxation year, you must provide a letter of explanation . "
We gathered all these documents and returned the sponsorship.

Not weird at all. When the app was returned, you lost your status in Canada. Resubmitting the PR and OWP app didn't change that. You need to apply for Restoration.

Is that still possible since my work permit expired on February 1st ?
You only have 90 days to restore your status. So it's too late for that.

That's why a lot of people apply for visitor status extension before their current work permit expires. Even after they sent out their OWP for "just in case the application is returned for a mistake" and it happened to you.

Depends on whether IRCC specified if your status ended in April. The letter should have had some wording about your status.

No, doesn't happen like that. IRCC should have stated something about your status when they returned the app.

It said nothing about my status in the application when they returned it last april.

Just curious.. i did leave the country last year September.. returned on September 28th.. passed the border and all that.. i assume that i got a tourist Visa right then as well I'd say.. which would mean that my tourist Visa would be until March 28th, after that I'd be out of status but wouldnt that mean that I could still apply for restoration ? 90 days after should be June 28th then..
