Hi
I am applying for my first TRV next week. After coming here Ive realised
1 - Ive left it very late
2 - Its not as simple as it seems

I hope to travel with my two kids during summer school break to visit my brother (last saw in 2016) , wife & kids(last saw close 8 yrs ago)

Ive not travelled much as I migrated in 2016 and had a baby the next year.
Im not travelling with my husband he will remain in England.
I have no family ties besides my husband & brother.
I dont have any assets besides a car and we rent our flat.
I have sufficient funds for my trip in my acccount but will have more by the time Im hoping to depart.
I am currently employed.

Is there any documentation I should or could add in to ensure that we are coming back to the UK.

Thanks in Advance

I would explain all of this in my letter and show proof of what I can. A letter from you husband maybe...showing that he's staying and will be waiting for you and the children to get back.

The letter from your brother showing what they will be taking care of during your stay.

Let them know that your travel history is weak and why...(I think that's a reasonable reason) plus the fact that you probably didn't want to travel with the children or leave them when they were younger maybe?

That's all I can think of. Just be honest :)

As long as your brother sends a letter that he will be supporting your stay financially- you do not need to show funds from your side. You just need proof of funds from his bank account

Also, you could book refundable tickets and add that to the application to prove that you will be returning back for your husband (I did that for a family member's visitor visa). It makes your file much stronger

You can also add letter from your husband and yur employer stating you are just taking a few days off from work for the travel. As long as your file is strong with all the documents- they wont reject you at all :)

Good luck with your application

Perhaps ill wait for more experienced members to comment but I believe your first point is bad advice. The brother cannot be legally forced to support her on her trip. For a visitor visa the applicant should be able to show how they can support themselves on the trip. Maybe others here can clarify if that is correct.

I never said brother is forced to support her :) I did applications for my family members under visitor visa and added the letters and funds showing i will support them. All of the applications are approved :)

She can either show funds from her side or brother. It is optional. And yes you may wait for more experienced members to comment. I added that statement as it was my personal experience last month.

I believe it is bad advice, she said she has sufficient funds to support her trip on her own, the advice should not be to not show her funds if she has her brothers support the advice should be to include both.

Hi, I have a Zimbabwean passport and in the UK on a spousal visa (limited leave to remain)
I agree with shahshrusti…..include letters from your husband and your employer. You have sufficient funds, plus you are not travelling with your spouse plus you already have status in the UK, I think you will be fine.

It is always better to show financial support from both the sides. I never denied that.

As i mentioned earlier- just because of my personal experience i added a comment about letter from her brother :)
I have no intensions of providing bad or wrong advice. I never asked to not show her own funds. Sorry if you misunderstood

Just because someone has "Star Member" or Champion beside their name does not disqualify someone from knowing about a specific topic. It's all advise people are giving on this forum at the end of the day. Just like in real life you can choose to take it or not...Don't disqualify people based on likes or status.

Even of you apply a visa stating you will be supported by someone, the forms that are generated ask for sponsor balance as well as your own balance.
Next is...you should not book tickets until visa is confirmed. You should only reserve it.

What are you talking about? I was saying perhaps someone more experienced than ME. Perhaps someone else who has spent years volunteering to help others on this forum. There are plenty of those people...I am not one of them. I wasn't talking about me so no need to put "star member" in quotations. I think you read that post wrong.

Nonetheless I will stick with my advice, it is better to show your own funds (if sufficient as stated) instead of your brothers.....better yet show both. If the advice is deemed to be bad it should be discounted.....based on the advice itself not based on the persons post count. The advice was as follows

"As long as your brother sends a letter that he will be supporting your stay financially- you do not need to show funds from your side. You just need proof of funds from his bank account"......I disagree with that statement, if your own funds are sufficient you should definitely include that
