Do masters in Canada or work for a year in US and then apply for EE?

Hi all,
In December, I will graduate with my Bachelor's in Computer Science from a university in the USA. I have gotten admission to Bishop's University in Quebec for a Master's in Computer Science for January 2020. The program is 20 months long.
My aim is to move to Canada within 1-2 years, the earlier the better.
I was wondering if I should work for a year in the US after I graduate and then apply for Express Entry.
Or if it would be better to go for my master's to Bishop's University right after I graduate in Jan 2020. If I do the masters would I be able to work in Canada for at least a year after my masters and then apply for PR? I'm not sure how well known this university is and if I will be able to get a software engineering job in Canada after I do my master's from there.
PS: Apart from english, I am fluent in french, C1 level, so language should not be a problem.

I don't have any work experience so I don't really qualify for EE. Should I use the CRS tool to find out my current score as it would be right now?

I feel going for Masters in Canada is a better option since your path to citizenship is shortened. Your study time will be counted towards the citizenship requirement. But, as you mention, check the university and job opportunities before taking that route.

The university isn't very well known, it's not on any ranking list anywhere. And it's located in Sherbrooke, Quebec. I'm not sure there are too many opportunities there. If the university and job opportunities do not look too promising, do you think it would be better to work for a year and then apply for EE? After a year of foreign work experience (USA) my CRS score would be 458. I don't know if that is good enough?

I think you should work for a year in the US. If you're a US citizen, it should be fairly easy to find a job with a bachelor's in cs. If you're an international student, it might take some effort but I definitely recommend making use of your OPT. Not only will it give you your 1 year express entry work experience, it can also help with establishing proof of funds.

Why would you want to spend money on a university that's not your top choice? Just my 2 cents, solid work experience trumps degree from low-ranked school.

PS: 458 is a good score. You'll have a fair shot at an invite. Might have to wait a month or two in pool, but should get an invite.

Check your score again. I don't think with Bachelor's degree and one year work experience you would score 458 unless you claim points for French as well. People with three years work experience plus Bachelor's degree are around 435.
