It's still In Process

I called and asked them to send a note, but the reply to the note after a month was that they are processing still, but I have no answer as to why it's taking such a long time to process

When I was at your stage, I ordered ATIP notes which contains the case processing information and I got to know I was in the waiting list for the test. I also contacted my local MP and received the same info plus the actual test date.

I think this would be my final update here, just took the oath ceremony and now officially a Canadian. Here is the timeline:

App Received: April 16th, 2018
AOR: June 8, 2018
In Process: July 16, 2018
Test Invitation: May 24, 2019
Test Date: June 10, 2019
Test Location: Scarborough
Oath Ceremony: June 11th, 2019

The officer after my test gave me an option to do the oath next day and I took it both hands, as she said the next date would be uncertain.

Single applicant from Brampton, did test and oath at Scarborough. Had received Oath invitation letter on the spot right after the test for next day ceremony. Finally became Canadian yesterday. Thanks all.

1. We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on April 5, 2018.
2. We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canadaon May 2, 2018.
3. We started processing your application on June 20, 2018.
4. We sent you a notice on May 23, 2019 to appear and write the citizenship test on June 10, 2019 at 8:15 AM. The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment. If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.
5. You became a Canadian citizen on June 11, 2019.

As requested, please see below the inquiry email for your citizenship application. Information below includes:


“Please be advised that we are currently scheduling application received in March, 2018. Note that this file rec’d in April, 2018. We anticipate we shall able to process the file in approximately 8-10 weeks. Client will be notified once the testing date has been finalized.”

This was sent to me on April 24th and one of my friend who applied in May 2018 same office got his test and already had his oath done... don't get why they stating they are working on March 2018 applicants...

MP cannot force ircc for expediting the process...
