Quick Question

There is 9 digit ID at the bottom of each page of IMM1344 and IMM008 . Both form needs validation and the 9 digit ID changes after ever save and validation .

Problem is the signature page 7 has different ID now as it was sent across to India and I got back today .
Shall I scan the recent one and get the it signed again for the 9 digit ID to be matched.??
just my opinion: i had the same experience. i re-printed everything, re-send.
but that's just me being really really careful. (there is a reason why they have that 9 digit ID)

I did. One of the IRCC agents told me it's ok to do so. I added it into my explanation letter.
I think it'll be fine. This is my personal option.
Thanks for sharing. I didn't add anything in an explanation letter, but hopefully it will be fine.

Hi all,

I sent in my application on Friday and it was received June 10th (Monday) morning as I could see from tracking Canada Post.
What are the timelines for AOR? Does it take a few weeks?
Can I see status in some other online form?

Thanks
Be patient. There are processing times. You can look at the spreadsheet and tons of people commenting on the same thing but yes AOR will likely take 1-2 months.

I have my lawyer ready to fight for me if needed. It is always gonna be worth it when you need it.

If you speak to all the successful businessmen they will tell you they hire the professionals and they pay well.

You get what you pay for. If it is important enough you wont leave it to an amateur.

People often fall into problem because they THINK they know how to do everything themselves. Sometimes it works out. But other times you pay way more to fix those mistakes and mishaps.

I have never heard anyone try to perform surgery on themselves or their family members even if you give them the textbook and surgical atlas which lays out the steps. Why? Cos they won't risk it if they can afford not to.

So it's a personal choice. But you reap what you sow. There has been already a group who have benefited for hiring their lawyers to fight for them. You never know.
many people got a spot without using a lawyer and some didn't get a spot using a lawyer. This year those with the most computer knowledge, the fastest typers and the people with the fastest internet had the advantage it wasn't related to whether they hired a lawyer. Would wait and see what the process is before making any decisions.

Every time you print or edit or validate 1344 ,the 9’digit id will change according to the barcode, to avoid this issue, either you print lol pages and send the signature page to INDIA for signing or email them and print the signature page without saving the form. You print the rest pages without saving the form. The is will be matched

It's not just about getting a spot. It is also in dealing with changes to the family situation.

Anyway it is totally fine to do it yourself. IRCC has set up the system for people to DIY.

It's the same with taxes. You can DIY. And with quite a lot of things. DIY.

But you have to ask yourselves if everybody DIY, then why would there be professionals or trades people out there? Not everyone has the time or wants to DIY when they have other things to do.

It takes more time to have to read up and research and do the same thing myself than to get someone to do it. Of course if you have done something a few times and are familiar it gets easier. Like fixing a leaky faucet? Haha!

Kudos to everyone here helping one another! Sure makes it easier.

Need urgent help!

I got an email yesterday r/t "conformation of Permanent Residence" for my parents and they have to submit their passports within 30 days either in India or in Canada. My parents are currently visiting Canada and will be going back to India on July 31, 2019.

The cic letter states that "if you and all the accompanying dependents are currently in Canada and plan to be in Canada for at least three months, you may submit your passports to the case processing center- Ottawa."
Does this mean that my parents have to stay in Canada for 3 months if they submit their passports in Canada or they can go back to India is they happen to receive their passports within 20 or 30 days ???

Thanks in advance!
You can always call them. That was the case with me back in 2015. My ppr showed up when i was in india and same 30 days period was mentioned to submit here in canada. So i give them a call they advised me to send an email to cpc_ctd ottawa something like that (you can find it out about that) explaining the situation, so i did. After 1 week they asked me how long i was gonna be staying in india so i explained that email and after 2 days they sent me new ppr mail to submit passports (me and for wife) in india.
Note: that was my case back in 2015.
So in your case my best bet would be to call them and ask.

All depends on your level of competency and your willingness to do lots of research. PGP is pretty simple. Things like appeals you should use a lawyer (not consultant).

I agree. Lawyer. Many of you here can work as "immigration consultants". (I suspect some of you do).

Lawyers require many years of rigorous training, passing exams about law (not just immigration law). So you are paying for professional expertise on a variety of sub-fields.

I also suspect that when IRCC sees that a case is filed through a lawyer for their client, they know it will be an easier time dealing with most of the applications. (Of course there will be those cases where the lawyer is brought in to fight. But most will be properly filled applications with fewer mistakes and deficiencies). Just makes it easier for the Case Officer.

Totally agree! Unlike most countries (E.g. U.S.) Canada has made most of the things online, made them simple and easy to understand and made the process as transparent as possible. So, most people should be able to do it themselves.
My personal opinion is that, Immigration Consultation is a money-robbing business taking advantage of ignorance, paranoia and laziness.

We have seen some pretty incompetent lawyers who are only trying to bill as much as possible. unfortunately many trust a lawyer from their own community but many lawyers take advantage of that fact. Same thing with consultants or "consultants" who are not registered consultants. Everyone should do their research and not trust anyone too much.
