Study Permit Applied in April 2019

Hi! Is there anyone applying from London VO?

I am an international student from China and now studying in UK. I submitted my online application for study permit on 06 April 2019, and still no updates for original passport request. I tried to contact high commission via email and web-form, however, no useful information replied. My postgraduate study program will begin on 17 June 2019, and I am very worried about not being able to go for my postgraduate study . The following are my application status. Any suggestion or sharing is welcome! Thanks a lot!

Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.
Review of additional documents We do not need additional documents. Help
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information. Help
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

The followings are my timeline:
Application Received: April 6, 2019
Biometrics recieved: April 8, 2019
No update for original passport request up to now...

I feel your stress and worry
But if this can help u. i got a friend that is from Cameroon but was in London like u and applied for his study permit and it took 4 months before he was replied
His stay in the uk had even expired!

I created this thread so that we all can connect and get an idea about the time ircc takes to process the files.
My timeline is:
Applied on : 10 April (SDS-Online)
Medicals: Upfront
Biometrics update request: 11 April
Biometrics submitted : 15 April
Biometrics on transit to Bangalore VAC :16 April

Only background is in process.

No, I'm from India but you check official website regarding detials for jamaican citizens

OMG... 4 month is insane! How can they take such a long time to process an application?!! I haven't got any update up till now, and it seems that I should start thinking about taking a gap year. Thank you very much for the information!

hey! so i applied on 25th of April 2019 and they received my application.
For Tanzania, the processing time is 8 weeks and they just changed it to 9. As of now i passed my medical and only the background check is remaining as always. on the 22nd marked the 8th week and i still havent received a reply.
should i be worried?

I applied on 5th April online sds fron india
8th april biometrics
15th April- additional medical tests.
I gave medical before applying (18th march) and asked to appear for more tests before filing application (29th March but received letter on 15th April)
Medical passed -6th may
After that no updates. Not even eligibility review started.
Any idea if this is normal and how long can they take?

Applied for hotel and resort business management at CTC vancouver campus.

Applied thru agent. Timeline as follows:

April 3- lodged application
April 4- received medical and biometrics request
April 10- biometrics done
April 11- medicals passed
April 26- linked my application with gckey
May 10- received passport request letter and biometrics confirmation letter
