Applied for work permit before sponsorship

Hi everyone,

I am currently a PR Living in Canada, My wife is living with me under a Visitor visa.
We applied for an open work permit for her 2 months ago, now we are planning to apply for a sponsorship after doing my research I found out that I can apply for a work permit with the Sponsorship.

My question is, can I link the work permit application already submitted with the sponsorship application I am about to submit.

Or should I cancel the work permit application and apply again with the Sponsorship.

Cancel the work permit. It's going to be refused.

Agree you had no grounds for the first work permit and your wife is visiting you in Canada.
