Question on WES Assessment of Indians with Russian Diplom

Hi,

I have completed my Engineering from Russia and am interested in getting WES Assessment of my Russian Diplom for immigration purpose to Canada.

I am having with me the following Original Documents:

1) My Diplom in Russian Language,
2) Notorized Translation of Diplom in English Language
3) 5 Year Consolidated Mark sheet in Russian Language
4) 5 Year Consolidated Mark sheet in English Language.

All Documents are Stamped and Signed by the University, Ministry of External Affairs- Russian Federation and Indian Consulate-Moscow

Now I Plan to get Apostille done in New Delhi by Ministry of External Affairs of India.

From WES website, I understand that I need to Courier WES-Canada my Original Educational documents after Apostille and once assessment is completed, the same shall be returned to me.

My Concern is about sending WES Canada my Original documents through Courier which appears to be a bit risky, as in-case of any eventuality I may loose my Original documents and getting a Duplicate Copy from Russia may be extremely difficult, Expensive and Time Consuming.

Please advice the following:

1) Is my understanding of WES Assessment Process CORRECT?
2) Do I need to Courier WES my Original Documents or is there any way in which Photocopies may work?
3) What is 5 yr Russian Specialist Diplom Equated to by WES?

Where it says " Please have all academic documents certified by apostille through the authorized body of education of the Russian Federation in your region.

NOTE: All original academic documents submitted to WES with an apostille will be returned to the applicant upon completion of the evaluation." That is from where my understanding of Sending Original Apostille Documents is coming.

Hello Anuraag. What did you do in the end? I'm in the same situation now. My degree is from Armenia which has a similar process, meaning apostille and sending original documents. I need to know what was the right thing to do?

Also, WES is not accepting Apostille from Ministry of Justice. Please let us know what really happened?

Hi All,

The Russian degree holders require to send the original diplom and transcript along with the original Apostles to WES-Canada. The English translation can be provided with the copy. All the originals documents as requested will be sent back to the applicant by WES-Canada through courier. The whole process took 5 weeks for me.

Hi I got graduated in russia.i got my original degree n transcript with Apostille on them.can I send my original document kd directly to Wes?how about the sealed envelope?can I just send them my original docs from my address to Wes?will they return the docs after the completion of evaluation?

This is what i did: Sealed the envelop by myself and placed my signature. When i called the help line to WES, they clarified that originals to be sent for Russian Degrees. Also, my friends did the same. WES returned my originals to my address via courier along with the original WES Accreditation Certificate. But make sure you select the courier option to receive your WES accreditation when initiating the application rather than the normal mail delivery. its extra charge, but your original degree certs will be sent along with that by courier or by normal mail based on your selection.

I only got the apostille for the Diplom Certificate and the Final academic transcript which contains all the subjects and the marks for the full year. Not to each year. I completed the degree in year 2008. Not sure about now. Thanks.

I haven’t got apostle yet. I’m not in Russia. How can I do in our local country? I have seen some post that it has been attested by Foreign Affaires of Russian Government. Is it mandatory or are we able to get it from local Russian embassy to submit at WES? Acceptable?

I’m facing same problem. I returned to my country after getting degree from Russian state university. So I’m unable to get apostles from my own country by Russian government (Ministry of External Affaires, Russia) So is it acceptable by WES to get apostles or attested by Russian embassy in my own country?
