In process means that they have opened your file to process your application. But even after then it's a long process. It will take ( in most cases) few months before next step comes ( either finger prints request or test invite ). As far as how long will it take to go from AOR to in process, no one knows. Depends on your visa office and officer. Some visa offices are faster than others. Status is updated right away in ecas.Hello Guys
Can anybody shed some Light on what in process ECAS column means in the 2019 Citizenship application spread sheet ?..couple of more questions
1) how long does it take after AOR(iam a march 2019 Applicant got my AOR) to get the ECASstatus updated?
2) how would i know if my ECAS status is updated (is there any way we can check online) or will i get any email Like AOR..
Thanks

For point 2, you need to keep checking your ecas status. You can check your ecas status online.

You will need to use your credentials such as UCI number or file number or receipt no. Etc to log in.
When I called to check my status, they told me the same thing that they could not find my application in the system. I was worried too that maybe they have lost my application. But very next day I received my AOR. The reason that your file isn't in their system is that they haven't opened it yet. So don't worry. You will soon get the AOR. Maybe agent assigned to your file is on vacation or something.Just got off the phone with CIC to update my address, they can't find my application to update the address but they updated my profile. Are there anyone else in the same boat as me? They received my application on the 13th of March and I can see from the spreadsheet a lot of us haven't received AOR either. I made the mistake of throwing away the tracking number too so I couldn't give them one. But it can't be that they lost my application or something is it?
DoneMy application changed to In Process this morning. Admins please update:
App Received: 7th March 2019.
AOR: 26th April 2019.
In Process: 4th June 2019.
Don't worry you and others will get it soon. At least you know now that they have not sent it back. I received my AOR 70 days after they received my application. You are still under that time line (by one day though).I just called CIC this morning regarding my application received on March 27th. The agent told me that they started processing on application received April 1st. The agent took down my tracking number and identification number and put on search. She told me to wait 5 to 10 business days and to call back if not heard anything.
In our March spreadsheet, it seems that many mid and late March applicants dont have AOR yet. I dont see its coincidence that all officers went for vacation or something else and I dont know really what is happening.
Just fingers crossed and lets wait.
Thank you Yasir, this makes us feel better relief.Don't worry you and others will get it soon. At least you know now that they have not sent it back. I received my AOR 70 days after they received my application. You are still under that time line (by one day though).
Yeah they might not all be on vacation but maybe some agents are quicker or some agents have more work load etc. When I called them they were working on March 27th Applications and I was March 20 applicant so it does not matter which application they are working on.
Also I see you are from Ottawa. As per my research, Ottawa is one of the fastest visa offices. total average visa processing time there is around 200 days whereas waterloo or mississauga is around 400 days -_-. So once your file is transferred, your case will most probably be completed before most of us.Thank you Yasir, this makes us feel better relief.
Thanks buddy. I know I just need to be patient and play it by ear. Meantime I'm going to focus on other things around me.When I called to check my status, they told me the same thing that they could not find my application in the system. That's what I've read as well. I've looked through the 2018 spread sheet. Seems like the processing times in this office vary quite a bit, some people have not finished the process yet, some were done in less than 250 days total. Most of whom are done had a processing time of around a year from application sent to oath ceremony. I believe we should expect something similar (12-14 months) if everything goes well.Congrats I see you are from Guelph. I am from Cambridge. Our applications will be handled by Kitchener office. Let's see how the process goes. Best of luck. Kitchener office is notorious for being slow
