If I am sponsoring a Mexican, does that mean it will go through Mexico City processing? Or does it all depend on the situation?

Absolutely, because if you go to early I find the answer is always" you are within the timeline" so its better to wait. If you really want to know whats going on with your file, pay the $5.00 and order your notes. I am on my 2nd set now just ordered today

Do you really get a good idea from what is going on from order your notes? if so I will go in and try and order? never done it before!

I did yes. I found out that my file was sent to Mexico VO before I was emailed about it officially. i also saw notes that they were going to re request documents. There was not too much as I ordered them early in the process. I am hoping I get a clear picture of whats happening with this set.
They are easy to order, and for 5.00 for my peace of mind and my lack of patience..... its worth it

Not really , just an additional document request . Since then nothing . Background apparently still not started . September 12 applicant

They acknowledged that they received the documents I sent, I’m happy with that and still patiently waiting for something ...... anything

I’m in the same boat as you. I’m a month behind you. My husband is also in DR.

When my husband submitted my Application for Spousal Sponsorship he applied using my maiden name but during the process i added his surname onto my maiden name.
My husband updated IRCC with my new Passport information and they requested a use of a representative form from me.
We sent in the use of a representative form but they never respond if they received the use of a representative form and now we got PPR BUT i am worried if they will reject my visa because of my married name on the passport.
Can anyone advise me on this?

i dont think they will reject it but they will have it issue a new visa a COPR with the correct name on it. all must match or they wont affix it.. read the instructions carefully on the form im pretty sure it says that in there somewhere
