Why don't you wait until you receive your correspondence letter? In my letter it says:

"Document to travel to Canada or re-enter
A study or work permit is not a travel document. To allow you to travel to or re-enter Canada by air only, we have issued you an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) when we issued your permit extension. Your eTA is linked to the passport that you used to apply for your permit renewal. You must travel with this same passport. If you get a new passport, you will need to get a new eTA."

In my case, I just need an ETA because my country of origin has no need visa.

Yes and no, it is not with the Work Permit, it is with the ETA. They provide ETA when you receive your Student/Work permit or when you apply for it as a visitor. I also was a student. In general, if your ETA expires or you get a new passport, then, you have to apply for a new ETA, and you cannot travel just with the work permit. I think it works the same with the TRV, but I do not know. We will see when k3nda receives his correspondence letter.

The information that I told you about the document that you need for traveling outside Canada comes in the correspondence letter. This letter is the one that you can download from your online account (you will find it as a new message), it is not in the printed OWP that they will send it to you.

Hi, I suggest you to read the last 10-20 pages of this thread because we already explained a lot of what you are asking for. That is the purpose of this thread.

I think since page 15 and in the last pages we really talk about how to link it and possible mistakes, you also were commenting there. To link your application you have to provide PA information from the passport and the application.

Thanks for your pacience. I was using the tips that I remembered (like the space after the numbers) but no success. Today I read all the tread a couple of times, but doesn´t seem so obvious.
For ex:
- UCI and APP number: in this case, PAs or Sponsor #?
- Family name: PAs or Sponsor?
I tried a couple of combinations but nothing yet. I will try again, only using my information and see how it goes.

Please, do not get me wrong, OK, but I do not think that you keep the previous eTA even if it is still valid. They gave me a new eTA with with my OWP. The eTA number changed and the issue and expiration date too.

No worries. You only have to provide PA information. I suggest you to try with UCI and last name.

Ah, another thing is happening: I am sure that I tried only 3 times before coming to ask these things at the forum. Now I tried again and it says that I reached my atempts limit. Yesterday the same thing happened.

That's interesting. Maybe they didn't check if you already have one associate with your passport. In any case, it doesn't harm to get a new one.

I don’t think so. It’s not possible to process everything without noticing my previous eTa and they are also explaining about it on the information that I just shared in my last post. And you’re right, it’s great to have a new one because they gave me more time -a year.
