Advantages are status updates, although they are inconsistent at best, and you can upload documents directly there. We never bothered to link and just used email and ECAS.What exactly is the advantage of linking our application to the GCkey? They will not send any emails anymore then, right? Isn't it better to get emails rather than logging in every day to see if there is an update?

HiHi people,
just wanted to confirm something with you guys , as per my consultant we received the AOR , but as per him there is another email that comes for us with more instructions on what to do next ( maybe because the sponsor is in Quebec ) , is anyone in the same boat , and can you explain the next steps after AOR for people in Quebec ?
My experience is that they send you an e-mail to tell you that you have a message in your account. What exactly is the advantage of linking our application to the GCkey? No, not yet but it only has been a week so far and it seems that even though some get their requests early, most take about 2 weeks.hi
Did you get any request after aor?
Okay, so I wouldn't need to check the account every day just to see if something changed. My husband says that he prefers getting emails but I kind of like to be able to upload additional documents. We will probably need to update them soon for the kids citizenship. ECAS says that the citizenship cards have been sent to the embassy but we haven't heard from them yet. In theory the IRCC people can just look it up themselves because we provided them with the receipt number but maybe they would prefer for us to send them a copy of the actual proof of citizenship once we have it.My experience is that they send you an e-mail to tell you that you have a message in your account.
