Submit OWP, Visitor permit extension and sponsorship together?

is this a smart idea? My spouse is here on visitor permit expiring in two months. The sticky thread on this forum says to put all three applications together in one envelope. Is that still good advice?

The OWP and PR apps go together. The visitor app is separate.
