Nov 23 applicant. Still in background check.
Getting pretty disheartened here as we did everything by the book and have been together for years, yet I'm seeing people who were literally out of status and who applied later just breezing right through. Congrats to those applicants for sure, but it almost seems like breaking the law gets you fast-tracked or something.

Feel your frustration but you gotta remember this is not a queue. Applications are different for everyone and depends upon your country of origin, travel and other factors.
You will hear something good soon (:

Not to make you feel bad, but there’s lots of us who applied way back in August and even earlier who are still stuck where you are. My background check hasn’t even started! I know it’s rough and it really doesn’t feel fair, but it’s all down to luck and some people just got luckier. Some of us got stuck in backlogs, got files sent to slower offices, or just have slower agents working on our files. But hopefully we will all get there eventually...

I have considered that perhaps it is the Nov applicants who have seen their applications progress who are posting more often (out of excitement and to keep us informed) than those who are stuck, as they may not really have much to say. As you have been delayed for so long, it does put things into perspective for me. Being told to be patient by someone who's already in, eh, not so much lol.
Anyway, let's also try to keep in mind that this is definitely a race and it's important to not lose said race! ;) Best of luck to you.

My background check started sometime back in March, I never got an email update. Before it started, it showed Not Applicable, and now it shows "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

Thank you so much for your information! COngratulation again! Mine is still quiet for a few months already. Thank you!

So I got eligibility passed email on Saturday and now ecas shows decision made under Sponsorship Application Status. Permanent Residence stays "In Progress".

I also got ghost update today (profile showed there's an update, but no new messages/updates, then I got back to home page and status went back to submitted)

I get that frustration feeling when I read some comments related to the ultimate goal becoming a PR.... I mean, the goal here is staying with YOUR spouse/partner/significant other vía PR, not the residency itself.... I am not here because I wanted to immigrate to Canada, I am here because it was the only way our relationship could continue, and I love my husband to that point, to the point of leaving behind career, family, friends, property, etc.

We just got a ghost update today! I guess I was just lucky to see it, because just a minute after, when I refreshed, it was back to submitted. How long does it take now to see an actual change in the approval process and what is the next step, is it DM? Thank you!
