Hi There
I was permanent resident from 1999 till 2012,From 2009 to 2012 I was under a “stay of deportation order” for few non violent convictions ,well just when I taught that this “ stay”was expired i traveled to Germany where I was arrested and convicted for fraud and received 2.4 years of jail time my conviction got reported to the authorities in Canada and subsequently my STAY was Revoked and I was issued a deportation order which was never executed because i never was able to return to Canada as my PR Card was expired. When try to renew it at earnest Canadian Embassy they just Retained it and was not able to attend the judges request to attend the revoke of the stay.Short story Long the minister of immigration issued the Dep.Order saying that he has more power over the judges decisions.
Well here is my question 7 years have past since I have totally changed my life and totally feel Rehabilitated.
My wife (Canadian born Citizen) called the CBSA to ask how we should proceed with getting some kind of pardon in order for me just to be able to come and visit from time to time my immediate family .My son from previous marriage I haven’t seen in 7years my niece has stage 4 cancer and to many issues to list here.I don’t want to live in Canada permanently any more as we have settled in Europe since then.
Some advise would be much appreciated Thank You

You'll need to start by applying for rehabilitation. It can take anywhere from a few weeks to over a year for rehab to be processed so I'd get the application in as soon as you can.

Given your complicated history, you should probably get a lawyer for the rehabilitation application. It will make your life much easier.

Do you have a good one that you can recommend
No, but you can try the firm that hosts these forums (I have no connection to them, I'm just a user like you).

Or just search for Immigration Law Firms Canada and call a few till you find someone whom you like.

No, it's not true. You are most probably criminally inadmissible to Canada because of your jail term in Germany, and that's why you need to apply for rehabilitation.

It's got nothing to do with the deportation order. You served a 2+ jail term in Germany. That's why you are inadmissible and need to apply for rehab.

The "nonprofessional" has told you a bunch of garbage. Recommend not listening to them in the future.

I assume you must be talking about the IRCC phone line. If so, they are useless for all but the most basic questions. Your situation is far too complicated to relay on them for information. If you want adivce, you need to hire an immigrate lawyer. You have criminality issues both in Canada and outside of Canada. It's a complex situation and your history makes it difficult to say what it will take for you to be able to return here as a visitor.

You posted a year ago about applying for a TRP. Did you ever do that?
