new updated info: send now or wait for AoR?

I sent in my application yesterday via same-day courier. It was vital that it land in the mailroom yesterday because my work visa expires today, and I need to benefit from implied status.

Yes, we took our time getting it together -- so much, in fact, that I had a USA police certificate completed in June 2018. I applied for a new police certificate about a month ago, knowing it "expires" in a year, but hadn't received it by the time we had to send in the application. So we sent the for-now-still-valid June 2018 PC.

I have now received the new PC. Should I send it to the office immediately with a cover letter with my name, my sponsor's name, and my UCI, or should I wait until I have an AoR and a case number to reference?

If it matters, both police certificates are identical with the exception of the date, and show a clean record. I am American with a Canadian citizen sponsor, applying inland.

Thanks!

No point in sending it now, very little chance they would be able to link it to your file. They will take 3 / 4 weeks to look at your pack and check it for completeness. If they spot something missing, they will reject the whole package, if it looks complete, only then will they send the AOR. Once you have that, then it will be on their system and you have reference numbers, so only then would I send anything as they would then be able to link it.
