Hello, I've applied to York university for Sept 2019 and got Visa approved before 12 hours. I've booked my ticket of 22nd June, so is it okay to travel two month prior to intake? I've my grandfather there who's gonna sponsor me for rest of my studies so my accomodation things are cleared rest I'm gonna bring 2000$ too so will it get any problem while immigration during landing over there? Please I'm scared because I've heard few stories that students were deported and also they have brought only $400-$600.

I've heard those same stories. in most of those cases the student brought too little money to support themselves before school started so the assumption was that they would be working illegally. I doubt you will have that issue since you will be going to stay with family. if questions are asked at the boarder toy can just explain that you are going on holiday. I will booked to travel to Canada on the 3rd of June but unlike tou I have no family there. Fingers crossed, I dont get turned back!

No, you must very much tell them the truth. Mention that you have people taking care of you, you want to get used to living in Canada, and you have relatives willing to take you in. You have money for shopping etc.

At no instance must you lie to border officials. They are trained to analyse your every move.

I understand then, your food and lodging will be taken by them, right ? Then in that case, its more than enough. The avg per month should be 800-830 dollars.

No, just state the facts. Only thing to note is that you cannot work till the day classes start. If you have genuine reasons and finances, then you will be allowed in.
