App status on hold is not a good sign. We had a few people who had similar thing in their file and it turned out to be dreaded SS. I’m not sure about suspended clearances. That’s probably the first time I have seen it. May mean that they think your pCC is expired and you need new one. I’m just guessing here and may not be the case.

@serene17 you had app status on hold as well.. right?
Thanks @cansha for the quick reply. As i was reading and progressing through your reply, i could just see it all get gloomy. Anyways cant loose my hopes at this stage. I have also DM'd serene17 to get more info. In the meantime, i looked up on the forums for "SS" pages and saw lot of folks discussing in SS thread. Now after going through several pages i could not find definite answer to verify if I am in SS.
How do we know about this looking at the GCMS notes ? Anywhere particular that i have to look at ?
I did see the security under activities and it says not started but the next activities in sequence have redacted data in the notes and the top right corner says 15.1 and 16.1c ( which i did some studying on that and was able to understand that) But that does not confirm SS as per one of the posts by legalfalcon back in 2017.
Do you know how can I check this ?

Am barely hanging on to this as the next stage will be 6-18 months !

I'm sorry. I was feeling sad as I typed that message but I wanted to give you the picture to the best of my knowledge. Those next few activities redacted may mean SS. @bimale4bipeople is a better person to comment.

Also, for the "On Hold" applications see my old post here https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/montreal-visa-office-lets-connect-here.575300/page-235#post-7610905

We had about 6 cases like that in Montreal in Jan-Feb early this year.

It is probably related to the visa refusal. Reading through this forum you might notice stat questions are cleared by itself over time.

Thanks @cansha , appreciate you helping out to the best extent and for your kind words.
@bimale4bipeople can you please comment as to the status of your application wrt to it being on hold ?

Also, @cansha , tried looking up at those 6 people who you had tagged in your previous post, do you know if any of them received PPR? i think @nandini received it or @yash...

Axwell, I also have application put On Hold, reason Information Required. I guess it is just an operational step where the immigration officer decide to put files on hold to wait for cbsa result. It does not mean thing serious, it is just a little longer wait.
My file is also with Montreal. I got remed request but not ppr yet.
Hope this can ease you a bit.

From the gcms notes under ACTIVITY if you have 1-3 or 4 activities blank followed by 4 or 5 activity as Security then it’s likely SS

The blank activities can be seen in the CBSA notes (which is just like GCMS notes but without redaction). They read like this for some applicants

ACTIVITY 1
Sub Activity/Activity Type: Security Screening
New Value: Received by CBSA
ACTIVITY 2
Sub Activity/Activity Type: Security Screening
New Value: Submit
ACTIVITY 3
Sub Activity/Activity Type: Security Screening
New Value: Not Started
ACTIVITY 4
Sub Activity/Activity Type: Security
New Value: In Progress

For other applicants (in advanced stages of SS) it reads like this

ACTIVITY 1
Sub Activity/Activity Type: Security Screening
New Value: In Progress by CBSA
ACTIVITY 2
Sub Activity/Activity Type: Security Screening
New Value: Received by CBSA
ACTIVITY 3
Sub Activity/Activity Type: Security Screening
New Value: Submit
ACTIVITY 4
Sub Activity/Activity Type: Security Screening
New Value: Not Started
ACTIVITY 5
Sub Activity/Activity Type: Security
New Value: In Progress

Nothing to worry, Do you see A11.2 anywhere in your notes? This is found at the end under NOTES heading

MI3 means minister instruction 3, this is a regular thing nothing to worry. A11.2 met means that the case processing agent has recommended your eligibility met, now the immigration officer will review the documents.

And when i talked with an agent..he said everything looks okay the responsible officer has requested for medical extension as our medical is expiring on 23rd of july.

This means your security/background is going on as the notes are 70days old. You might receive a re-medical as the time of medical expiry is coming close. If the decision is made within May, you might be asked to land before 23 July.
Did you confirm when did your background check started?
