Proof of Means of Financial Support Vs Proof of Financial Resource of Supporter

Hi , My family ie my mom , dad and me are planning to visit Toronto. Since my mom, is dependent on my dad, the document checklist has two documents to be uploaded.

1.Proof of Financial Resource of Supporter
2.Proof of Means of Financial Support

Please help , which documents are necessary for these 2.
My assumption for 1st one is :
My dad 4 month bank statement, his pension slips , his liquid money proof like FD and relationship document.

My assumption for 2nd one is:
My mom FD account detail. Is it enough or what else can i include?

And for proving relationship , marriage certificate is not available ( they were married long back ). So can I upload any document , that defines the relationship between my dad and mom?

Hi,

Proof of Means of Financial Support is for one who is supporting himself/herself.
Proof of Financial Resource of Supporter, I am assuming your mom is not working, thus she is dependent on your father.

In case of non-availability of marriage certificate (which holds true for most of us), the passport is the alternative. It contains the name of the spouse.

I assume you are in Canada, probably you can also provide support for their travel, I believe.
If you can show liquidated funds more than what is expected, it would be good like saving's bank balance certificate or bank statements, RD, FD etc.
Also show ties to home country, which should be strong enough to convince Visa Officer that your parents would return eventually.

I am from India and me and my parents are travelling together. I stay in Bangalore , so applied from Bangalore VFS , while they will apply from Delhi. I think RD is not a liquidated fund.

I have one more question. If visa officers doubts my purpose of travel, will he/she give me a chance to upload new documents or directly reject?

In that case, you need to show either you or your father is responsible for your mom's funds.
If you can withdraw RD at any point of time, most of banks offer this now-a-days, then it is considered as Liquidated Funds.

Show strong ties to come back like your job, your/parent's property, their jobs, family ties etc.

Invitee (believe its you) would provide an invitation letter signed by you + copies of your passport + immigration status + your bank statement + NOA + T4.

2.Proof of Means of Financial Support

Your Dad should include a letter of Financial support + his bank statement + Tax assessment + any financial investments (not locked - in). This resource would be used to pay for both their visit and stay in Canada.

Thank you for the answer. We are visiting my sister in Canada , but she is not sponsoring us. We will take care of expense. So my dad income proof are enough for both documents?
