They keep offering oath invites for people taking the test since last month and yet, people like me who took the exam on March is still waiting for the invite. I really really don’t get it. At this point, I’m just thinking they are deliberately delaying it for some just so the overall processing time won’t be too short.
You’ll be a citizen eventually. Don’t make yourself suffer; Let it happen on its own course. An officer would be more active than another, but the inactive one will have to move their bum too. When the time is right; you’d fly, possibly baggage free. I hope you look after your health and don’t let this affect you. Just take a break from this forum, if that helps.

Nothing personal here. Think of it from IRCC perspective, what good is it doing to them if they 'deliberately' slow down your application?
When word gets around that there’s a lot of cases completed much earlier than the 1 year processing time they promised, applicants would expect to be processed faster as well. And that would put too much pressure on them.

When I call their call center and ask for updates, they tell me to just be grateful that 5 months in, I already got decision made. When I tell them that actually, some cases have already been completed with the same timeframe or even earlier, they say that that’s just an outlier, an exemption to the rule. I actually wanted to say that no, it’s because some officers are just better at their jobs than others.

I understand, what I learned in the horrendous wait times during my PR application ( took 5 years while they introduced the new express entry and people who applied after me arrived in Canada) is that things happen at snails pace for any immigration related activity. You just live your life as if the application was never given.

In comparison Canada is far ahead as to the United States where Green card application timelines are based on your country of origin. So if you are from India or China you go to wait a life time( literally).
Cheer up and you will get it soon ! :)

It’s always been tougher for SKILLED immigrants over here. When has it been any easier?

It’s really important to look after your health! No one else will do that for you!
And if mental health gets affected; nothing stays the same!!

We have made the choice to come here, so why would they care about how we feel?
And when we seek certain answers, it could be seen as harassment. Lol

Indians and Chinese analyze the situations sooner and are effective problem solvers. So, I guess; they are seen as strong competitors and performers.

I called IRCC today. Was told file transferred to Mississauga office as Scarborough was too loaded. The officer maintained that I should expect things to close in 12 months; 11th month got over today. They would be able to inquire from the Oath office only if the 12 months are over. The guy also mentioned that family applications take slightly longer than single ones and an important point that Oath office is different from Testing office.

The call centre agent is always expected to tell applicants to be patient! They do not have any control on the process. I hope you hear something positive soon. Good luck!

Any updates regarding oath invitation this week?
Any one has idea about this year’s Canada day citizenship oath ceremony. I have heard that they clear most of the backlogs during Canada day and Citizenship week. If you have any idea, how many persons will be accommodated? Where is this events takes place ? My application will cross one year in June 2019 . What you guys think – do I need to wait all the way to Canada day oath ceremony?

Your views /comments will much appreciated

'I have heard that they clear most of the backlogs during Canada day and Citizenship week. '??? LOL
No such thing! At least not last year, all they did was spend extra money and resources to put a group of people on CN Tower to do their oath and posted on twitter/facebook ... there was also a small ceremony in front of the city hall with probably 30 - 40 people taking oath that day... while tons of people were still waiting for test invite.

Consider yourself lucky if you actually hear anything after Canada day

Taking the Oath of Citizenship at a citizenship ceremony is your final step to become a Canadian citizen. Citizenship ceremonies take place across the country and at all times of the year. There are special ceremonies on Canada Day and during Citizenship Week.

I am well aware of those - that’s why I mentioned the CN tower and City hall - but don’t think for a second that those extra ones will clear up and backlog
