i have been living outside of Canada for 8 years and want to come back in Canada with my Mexican wife and here 17 years old daughter.
i have read a lot about the immigration in Canada and i still find it confusing and i thought maybe someone here will help me understand better.
our intention are to apply outland for PR from Mexico and wait 1-2 months to get the interview in Mexico city and then move in Canada ,then wait 6-8 months to get the PR if no need for interview from Canada.
problem that i read is i am not a resident in Canada and because of that i can't sponsor my wife and here daughter until i become a resident again after 6 months,in some other place i found that i can do it from outside of Canada before going to Canada and when the process is started i can go to Canada with them.
i would appreciate the help from someone who knows about this kind of process

You're creating problems where there are none. There is no rule that states you must be a resident to sponsor your family for PR. You can sponsor them now from outside of Canada. You just need to demonstrate that you plan to return to Canada to live here once their PR visas are approved.

If you are a citizen, you can sponsor your wife and daughter while living in Mexico. You will need to show that they intend to live in Canada after they get PR - you can do this by showing proof of your plans to move back to Canada, or a house in Canada etc.

You don't need to go back to Canada at all till you get their PR, then you can all move back together.

If you aren't a citizen, and are just a PR, then you can't do this.

If an interview is required, it will be far past the 1-2 month mark. Mexico isn't a fast office, so any interview would probably be at least 8 months out. Also, biometrics cannot be done inside Canada. I believe the biometrics request comes a few months into the process right now. If they are already in Canada at that point, they would have to go to another country to complete it.

thank you for fast reply ,i read that it take about 1-2 months after starting the process outland to get a date for a meeting in mexico city then how long do you think it take to know if we are approve to move on with the PR.

They do not always ask for an interview. Interviews are called when IRCC suspects a Marriage of Convenience or there are other red flags, such as criminality. With a 7 year relationship, you have little chance of an interview.

I don't know where you are getting your information but interviews are never called near the beginning of the process at any VO. The application will first go to Canada. It will be there for several months while the sponsor portion is processed. After sponsor approval, it is sent to the VO in Mexico. It will then be many more months before even getting to the point where they would consider an interview.

There is no 'online' application. You must send in all the complete paperwork package as hard-copy.

You cannot start as outland and 'switch' to inland, you have to go all the way through with one or the other. Of course you cannot do 'inland' unless you are actually living in Canada.

You are reading old and outdated information. Inland is 12 months. Inland was 24 months a few years ago - but not any more.

Some get through outland in 6 months - but entirely possible to take closer to 12.
