HELP!!! Visa and OWP expiring this May!!!

Hi everyone!

I would like to ask for an expert advise or any of you who faced on the similar situation. My visa and open work permit are expiring at the same time on May 29, 2019. I am currently waiting for my PR application under CEC-inland, which was sent Feb 1, 2019 (timeline said its still 13weeks processing). I also applied for BOWP last March 7, 2019 still waiting for approval (theres no update since I applied). If ever I wont get any update or approval by the time that my permit expire, what should I do? Please help me as I do not know if I should just wait for the approval or to make a move (e.i. applying for a visa or permit?). Hope anyone can answer my question. It would really help me out.

Are u a principal applicant on an APR under the CEC?

Maybe you can call IRCC to find out if R10 is done? 'A BOWP can be issued only if the e-APR has passed the R10 completeness check.'

I'm in the same situation.. my visa and OWP expires on June 3.. applied for PR under CEC on 13 Nov but it's not approved nor BOWP.. if you don't get an update by May 29 then you go into implied status as you already applied for BOWP.. you can continue working until a decision is made on PR/BOWP..

Since you applied in March 7, it will take couple of days for your BOWP to be approved and it will approved since you are waiting for a decision on your PR application.
now when on 29 May, your visa and work permit expires, you will have legal rights to stay in Canada and work with your current employer. your status will be called "Implied Status". Once you receive your BOWP (which will be valid for 1 year), your status will be renewed.

P.s: I was on implied status for 3 months waiting for my BOWP. got that eventually and not in que for decision for my PR.

Ive been trying to call them but they are always busy and wouldnt even pass my call to an agent.

Thanks! I was able to contact them. As the agent sounded like he's done for the day, he basically said they are still doing the BGC for my e-APR and they didnt start processing my BOWP application. But I can still work until the decision has been made. The agent just told me whatever I can see in my CIC account.lol

yes it is automatic that you will be on implied status and can continue to work. do not quit your job. and yes I worked the whole time I was on implied status
