I submitted initial application 3 years ago for TRV coming here in Canada. Now I got excited after completing the requirement of 24 months for PR. Got my documents filled up and I realized after visited China embassy that my previous visa that was on the third application issued to me while I’m in China was working visa. I’m on tourist visa on the first 2 applications. Since there’s no interpretation on the visa stamp for what type of visa that was issued, I assumed I’m still on tourist. When I applied for TRV from HK, I wrote I’m on tourist visa on one of the boxes in employment history. Now I need to fill the background/ declaration for PR. What am I going to do? I need help please! I can’t wait for my daughter to come here after 7 years that I’m not present in her life. Please give me an option...

Your post is confusing. There is no 24 month requirement to apply for PR. If you wish to apply for PR, you must qualify through one of the PR immigration programs such as Express Entry or one of the Provincial Nomination Programs.

The only 24 month requirement when it comes to PR is 730 day residency requirement to keep PR status. However this is for people who are already permanent residents. This does not apply to people who are applying for PR for the first time.

Can you clarify what you are asking? What application are you filling out?

Its the caregiver program new pathway PR application. Is there a way to correct the information that I gave on the initial application way back 3 years ago in imm 5257 previous country of residence, I wrote in the status section as tourist then after the renewal of my visa in China they gave me a worker visa.

There's no way to correct the information you gave three years ago.

Would this affects my PR application? I haven’t send my application package yet. Do I have to ask an immigration lawyer to correct this?

Have you been working illegally? I'm confused. You had a work permit or not?

No one can "correct" information you submitted three years ago. If you had a work permit, I don't know if you even have misrepresented anything - you would still need a TRV to enter Canada.

Please explain a little more. You may need to consult a lawyer.

I am in Canada already. I completed 24 months as caregiver. I mistakenly wrote tourist instead worker

But you had a work permit already? And needed a TRV to get to Canada?
I had work Permit here in Canada. It’s been 3 years. I am going to apply for permanent residency as caregiver. What will I do before I apply for PR? How do I have to amend the information since it’s been 3 years already?

You can't amend the information, as has been said a number of times.

This may or may not be an issue, as the work permit and visa would have been issued separately and IRCC would know that one permit or the other would have been in existence.

You should contact a lawyer to provide you with solid advice - I don't know enough here to comment.
