Guys, getting DL Extract is very much needed, you will be eligible for G-test directly(save money and time). I also got my DL extract from RTO Manneguda, I took the online confirmation print out and paid the fees online, along with that I took Original Driving License which is a must. It is a simple task, we go there give our photocopies and online confirmation print out, DL photocopy, PAN/Passport photocopy. Then we get a simple paper with all our details and they just stamp and sign it and give it to us. The guy who signs is a very lazy person ( kaala motu) doesn't sign until he wants to. Usually he signs them and give them back to us post lunch.
My appointment time was 11-12 PM RTO Manneguda, I went there on time, later at counter 3 I gave my docs and told that I came for DL Extract, he will check in system and give us a printed sheet which is the actual DL extract, on the same that kaala motu will sign and stamp it and give it back. Stamp and Sign is a MUST, that's how they treat it as original document in Canada.
I went to the Drive test center in Toronto and gave the knowledge test (G1) and passed it. While I was there, first I told them that I have 10 years experience in home country and showed them the DL extract, they took the original DL Extract sheet and kept with them for their records, they will scan the passport and original Indian driver license and keep them(photocopies only) for their records. Make sure your Indian original DL is neat with a chip and has exact details clearly visible (photo and name and DOB), if not there is a chance they reject it.
If you are NOT getting DL Extract then you have to wait minimum 6 months to get a full G license (eligible to drive everywhere).
G1 - Knowledge test
G2 - Excluding highways and some more restrictions
G - Main thing or Full license
Now, I need to give G test (road test) post which I am fully eligible to drive in Canada.
Thanks,
Vinay
