Your file is currently under review and requires additional verifications. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times.

Unfortunately at this time we are not able to determine when your application will be finalized, but our office will contact you as soon as all verifications are completed, or if any additional information or documents are required.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum.

Is this kind of response normal?? Anyone received similar email?

When I spoke to agent last month she said everything appears to be normal, eligibility met and background check not started yet...online profile doesn't even show eligibility has been met...i am confused..
You must try calling them or order gcms notes.
You can also try filling the web form on the ircc website

Finally got through to a call agent, after the 6th day of trying.

Exactly the same status as the past two times I’ve called now, the first time a couple of months ago - my application looks fine and there is nothing wrong with it, it’s just still in progress. She said the processing times are just numbers meaning due to the nature of statistics, some applications will take longer than others and that doesn’t meant the application is necessarily easier to process, it’s just not picked up as quickly by certain agents.

So hold on

Ha tell me about it!

I get it, sometimes things take longer than usual. The thing that does bug me though, when they say my application is good and there’s no issues, then why would an application from November or December then be done before mine. That does just seem unfair.

If my application has an issue, then fair enough. But my eligibility has been in progress for what seems an eternity which no apparent issues which makes me think it’s been partly done and not finished whilst new applications are progressed.

That is exactly the same thing that bothers me too. If application really looks good then why the hell are they left untouched for 4-5 months while people from December and January are getting PPRs. It's just ridiculous.

The biggest concern now is Ottawa haven't dispatched a PPR batch in ages and yet they're continuing to take in new applicants in big numbers. This is looking even more disastrous for a VO that has massive backlogs.

Hope its standard response and they verify it fast..
I don't think it's a standard response. Standard response would be "everything is in order with your application bla bla..". It could be under "review required", which takes a long time. I would order notes and find out if and what issues they found and try to send additional documents. I would not risk a refusal by just waiting.
