Hi there,

I've recently submitted an application for sponsorship of my husband. I am born and raised in Canada and currently I am a full time nursing student. The CPC office is asking for my paystubs for past few years in which I have not been working as much. I am able to support my partner financially through investment money that my father left for me and since my husband works in India, he has money saved up for both of us in India as well. I just wanted to know if the paystubs I provide them have less money coming in my account, would that affect my husband's application in any which way?

Spousal sponsorships don't require LICO funds, so it shouldn't make much difference that you weren't making much money.

They may simply be checking up on your job to make sure you didn't say that you were working when you weren't or something like that.

They are looking to see that you can support yourselves. Include proof of the investment income and your husband's savings along with your payslips.

They are checking her income. While there is no minimum income requirement, couples must show that they have sufficient financial resources to support themselves in Canada without welfare. While extremely rare, spousals app can and have been refused for financial reasons.

They haven’t asked me to provide any financial information to prove if I can support him financially. They only asked for my paystubs and most recent notice of assessment. Should I still send them more finances to show I have enough money saved up to support him or should I wait until they ask me to send them more financial support information ? Thankyou for your reply!

Asking for the paystubs and NOA is asking for financials. I suggest you submit all of it.

Sounds like your investment account balance and information will be the most important. Not sure if you have liquid funds in there but an investment account with funds that are locked in isn’t helpful since you will need liquid assets to live day to day.
