What happened to your birth certificate? Lost?
In China, people who wore born before 1996 has no birth certificate. We have a certificate from hospital when we were born, but must have given it to police station when we registered for our residential record. Then we have a residential card to prove our identities, and an ID card when we turned 18 as well.

It's fine, just add a coverletter to your application explaining why you're not submitting a birth certificate and what other documents you're submitting in order to prove your relationship to the sponsored person.

Look at IMM5748, Question 3. There you will see that EI amounts are deducted from total income to get to Available Income. In my view, EI should be allowed to be shown as income. But IRCC wants to ensure that in last three years, you were capable of earning above threshold without any assistance (EI), this is just raising the bar. One reason for this is that you are giving an undertaking for 20 years. It is pretty long time, so they just want to make it more difficult (stress test if you want to call it).
Do not overthink just stick with what IRCC asked for. I see guys are going beyond the checklist.

On form imm5669 Schedule A question 6 Personal History

Are you guys adding your parents travels in it? I'm seeing conflicting information in this thread.
I don't need to include any travels to fill in gaps, do I still need to include ALL travels?

Nooooooooo, just include more than 6 months (which means any permanent resident status other than the origin country)

1. No need to enter his name in Q1, but enter in Q11.
2. Yes
Thanks Godzilla9

I apologize for confusing you. I meant you need to select whether he is employed or not. You do not need to provide his detailed work experience in the table. That table is for co-signors.

Hi Everyone,

In form 5406, they have asked to fill all names in native language.

Does it goes in same line like "Harendra, हरेन्द्र " or native name need to be in different line. Also do we need to fill all address and everything in native language as well.

Also i am not able to use pdf to enter native language

I am working on my parents application. I have two questions:

1. My husband (co-signer) - is self employed and files income under personal taxes as well.
I should be using the income to fill the forms I see under his NOA line 150 - Correct?
Is it similar for both employed and self employed persons?

2. If I am sending my parents passport copies - do all these need to be notarized even if the passport is in English?

Thank you guys !

This is strange!! They confiscated your birth certificate when you registered for your residential record.
I am glad that I didn't have to go through this. I was born before 1996 and still have my birth certificate from China.

Hi everyone,

I am having trouble with IMM 5669 question 3. I nor my father knows his fathers date of birth. CIC say to put * if the date is unknown but when I do I still can’t validate the form. I have tried a lot of combinations ****-**-** which is the format for year/month/day and still no luck.

Does anyone know what I can do? Does the form have to be validated or can I send it in not validated because of the date of birth unknown?
