How to know if my program is eligible for Post graduation work permit?

I decided to study this from George brown college. https://www.georgebrown.ca/programs/fashion-management-program-f102/#coursesContent However, I want to make sure that my program is eligible for PGWP. I heard that students who study something related to STEM get the PGWP easily but my program is related to management. Am I eligible for the PGWP? Also, if I study master instead of Diploma, will it increase my chances of getting a PGWP? In other words, is master more valuable than the diploma? I ask this since I'll be studying a 2 year diploma program.

The best thing is to send a Mail to the college and they usually reply within 2 to 3 days.You can check the below site if a college is eligible for PGWP

It's been 10 days since I sent them an email and they haven't replied me yet and I am in a bit of hurry so I asked here.

If your college is eligible to offer a PGWP and if your program duration is 8 months or above you are eligible for a PGWP, you can check your college eligibility here https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/designated-learning-institutions-list.html

That is entirely up to you, depending on which country you are from, where you will apply, how you will apply etc. Usually you might need between 45 days and 6 month to get everything ready.

Hi Yuvraj,

All programmes offered by George Brown College have PGWP available, provided your selected course's duration is of more than 8 months. You
may also check the same by going to https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/study-permit/prepare/designated-learning-institutions-list.html and selecting 'Ontario' in View list by province or territory dropdown, then search for George Brown College. Then look at the last column 'Offers PGWP-eligible programs' and you will see 'Yes' written for George Brown College, which means PGWP is there for all programmes offered by the college.

It generally doesn't matter for which intake you are going to apply. It all depends upon the course / college availability during a particular intake. Please note that, Sept is the largest intake among all 3 intakes for Canada. However, you need to take care of Gap, if you are delaying your admission.

Thanks Do you know when exactly do classes begin for the January intake? Do they begin in January or March? Someone said the classes begin in March if you apply for January intake.

Thanks! can you explain me the difference between a diploma and a pg Diploma? Which one is more valuable? The program which I am going to study is a diploma program. Like others, my goal is to get a PR. Will the diploma program help me land a job and finally pr? or the pg diploma is better

'Diploma' is for students who have done Grade 12/Diploma in India and 'PG Diploma' is for students who have completed their graduation and then applying for higher studies. Basically, these are 2 different program types, which depends upon your highest qualification.

As you have mentioned that you are going for a 'Diploma' program, so I am assuming you are applying on behalf of your Grade 12/Diploma. So, you should opt for atleast 2 year long diploma to secure 3 year post study work permit. You can also go for a Bachelor degree, which will be for 4 years but you need to decide if you are keen on a 4 year studies with extra cost for 2 years related to it.

Both Diploma and Degree are one of the good paths to attain PR but please note that degree will get you extra points for PR.

As you have mentioned that you have already done Bachelor's, so you have to go for a 'PD Diploma' or 'Masters' only. If you will go for just 'Diploma', Visa chances will get reduce. Also, I would like to advise you that you can now opt for 1 year 'PG Diploma' if 2 years 'PG Diploma' is unavailable and once you have joined the college, then you can apply for another yet relevant 'PG Diploma' program for 1 year, to make your study for 2 years. However, please note that there should not be any gap between 2 years of your 'PG Diploma' studies, so as to get 3 years PGWP.
