Hi all,

I have two serious problems.
1- I got my spousal work permit (spouse is an international student) on the border ( previously I was on PGWP and it was expiring soon). I noticed a date on my immigration stamp, I have a date written which upon research tells me that I have to leave Canada by that date. However, my work permit have a further validity of 6 Months after the date written on my passport stamp.

2- I applied for TRV online. When i checked its status through phone it said it will take 49 days and considered my application to be a visitor record. I am pretty sure that I applied for TRV (I answered to a question of how long i plan on to stay in Canada to be Temporary-6 months or more). Already 7 days (excluding two Satutory holidays of good Friday and Easter Monday) have passed and the processing time was 5 days when i applied, currently it is 6 days.

I THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR REPLIES.

1. You can stay in Canada as long as your spousal work permit remains valid. Because it is the latest document issued for you.
2. I don't really understand the question.

2. Sounds like you applied to change your status to visitor, not for a TRV. If so, you need to withdraw and apply for a TRV.

Thank you very much for your reply, MY permit and the stamp on the passport were issued on the same date. Moreover, my second question is regarding my TRV. I applied for TRV and when I called through the phone to check my status and processing time it told me a time of 49 days, which is the processing time for visitor record.

Your status in Canada is still legal (your work permit is valid). You don't really need the explanation letter for withdrawing the application as the final decision has not been made. But attached the letter is totally fine. Good luck.
