It will
what does file transfer mean? Also, my husband did his medicals and on the gov site, it says medical received. It does not say medical passed. I heard it can say passed or received which is apparently the same thing. Any idea?
it will say “ you have passed the medical”
It takes about a week to 15 days to get this result.

What comes under "background check, eligibility of applicant"
Background check is credentials, like where you went to school and worked etc
Eligibility is verifying that the applicant is being sponsored under the correct program and that he or she is even eligible to be sponsored under that particular program and if not then they reject the applicant on those grounds. Someone yesterday I read was rejected because they weren't eligible to be sponsored under spousal sponsorship for permanent residency due to not meeting the conjugal requirements.

Hoping to see at least the "We started processing your application on XXXXXX" on the wifey's side of eCAS sooooonnnnn :)
Your application and mine are 2 days apart, I submitted in the 28th of January. It will be interesting to see how ours will compare to each other throughout the process.

This makes me feel a lot better. Because we have submitted everything already and have also been transferred to CPC-M a month a go but still no sign of 'started processing' on PA's ECAS.

Fingers crossed! I'm hoping for the same!

When we submitted our receipt via webform we got this email a couple of days later (March 12th):

Good day (PA's name),

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
We are pleased to confirm the reception of the following document:
  • R341122261.pdf
We have forwarded it and the information you provided to the responsible office for their consideration.

After this we got our biometric's request much later (April 11th).
Okay, letter is scheduled to be sent to us on May 16th then lol..sigh..but thanks for verifying that the receipt is successfully forwarded. Alohomora, you are my go to fron now on haha.

Who is with me here and thinks this process NEEDS to change . I get they have a lot of applications and doing background checks is important so not to take criminals into the country. But this is really ridiculous, it’s awful keep family’s separated. Half the info they request should not even be required for applications and are not necessary. They need to change something . Let applicants wait in Canada while processing at least, especially people who are married.

Sorry end of rant :)

Quality over quantity, always. Never submit more than what's asked for in the checklist. It's designed that way because it's sufficient for officers to start processing an application with that amount of evidence. If they need more, they will ask. If you satisfied the checklist, you have nothing to worry about.
That’s true. Pls does anyone know what to put on the areas on checklist that are not apply to me? Should I just write N/A or leave it blank? Thanks in advance

I agree with you but I think letting applicants into the country would be a risk if the marriage was fraudulent because the applicant could just get in here and remain undocumented but I totally agree with the waiting times and all. I know it used to take so much longer but it would be nice for monthly updates to at least see where we are at. Like if they sent us notes every month so we can see what they have done with our files. It's awful that people wait so long in silence not knowing what's next or if their files are even being looked at our sitting on a shelf. It would make the wait less painful and decrease anxiety. But yes, something needs to change. There is always room for improvement! :)

I put N/A on all things that didn't apply just to be safe but that's just me haha. :')

Dislike and disapprove. Imagine the influx of people coming into the country because of that. And how many fake marriages will take place, if just the fact of the marriage will allow you to come to Canada? Marriage will become the free ticket to the country, if everyone who is just married will be allowed to come here without an assessment of a relationship. And finally, where will you look for those people who "come here to wait", but were rejected as a result to get them out of here? I wouldn't be so naive hoping everyone with a rejection will voluntarily leave the country on the first notice.
