It is easier on their server. Not a big deal you can see online.

I can but there are 26612 applications online and all of them are invited even though they said only 20k will be invited. I m worried if it could be a mistake

We have no idea how they are processing the applications from 20,000-27,000. They may get everyone to send in their apps and put the 7000 apps in a pile and process them when they know how many people actually applied and how many get refused. Maybe they will process all the application and figure there may be 7000 that won't qualify. Last option is that the 7000 may not get invitations in the next couple of days. Not sure:)

The most logical conclusion is that they are accepting whatever eligible applications come in out of all the 26k plus ITA they will send out.

Anything else would be a massive horrible PR communications disaster.

But it is the Liberals so you never know.

What do you mean?

Just received, the invitation, good.
But in 2018,I got a new baby, and I was in parental leave (RQAP) for 6 months. Now, after doing my taxes for 2018 I fell short by 1100 cad below the income needed to I support my family 3 + my 2 parents.

Question: Given that 2018 has damaged my income history, should I need to wait until 2019, 2020 or 2021 to qualify abobe the income threshold? Even if 2017, 2106 and 2015 I was OK with the income?

Thanks in advance!!

You'll need to wait for another few years before applying, unless you have a co-signer.

If you’re invited to apply, you’ll have to provide proof that you meet the income requirements for each of the 3 taxation years right before the date of your application.

This may be a dumb question... but in form 5768 No.14 we have to provide employment (and unemployment history for the past 3 consecutive tax years. However, the first line of the form says from YYYY-MM-DD to Present. If we take "present" to mean the day we sign the form, how do we calculate the Gross income/Benefits for that period?

1) I am self-employed. Calculate how much gross income I made until today?
2) My husband is a salaried employee, but currently on parental leave. Does he calculate how much he was paid by his employer until the day he went on parental leave? Or is parental leave included?

Also - I was unemployed and on EI for a few months in 2017. Would the payments from EI that be included in the Gross income/Benefits?

In any case we meet the income requirement for sure and they can verify that with CRA, but since we have to provide details as well, I'm a little concerned that the info we provide would not match up to the exact dollar and cent with what CRA will have on file.

Also, should Gross income/benefits include investment income as well?

TIA!
