Hello All,

As being a newcomer I am looking for a reasonable housing option in Vancouver. Can anyone help me with this? I am fine with shared options too.

What is your definition of reasonable? Do you. need to be in Vancouver or will a suburb work? Which suburb? I'm not in BC but maybe with more info others can help. Vancouver is not a cheap place to live.

I will be looking around for jobs, so a shared or pretty reasonable under cad 300-400 will be great. I am planning to stay in Surrey. Any additional advice, suggestions or information will be helpful. Thank you in advance.

That is extremely low. Unfortunately you’re probably looking at illegal boarding houses. You had to show savings to get accepted so you should be able to pay more rent monthly based on your around 15K in savings.

I have no such intension and idea. Will look closely at the reasonable things and consider the stay. Thanks for advice

You need to do more research.
Median rent for a 1 bedroom in Vancouver is $1900 down from $1950 in 2018.

Surrey would be cheaper but $300 - 400 is not even close to sharing rental of a basement suite with multiple rooms.

Oh..hmm...tha not for the information. Can you please suggest me some alternate option since I will be looking for jobs in the initial phase and too much rent is not a helpful idea.. Thank you in advance

Also can you suggest me option where I can share room with someone for sometime!
I don't have any personal experience on that. I read news. I have been living here for long enough that I was able to rent alone after leaving my parents' place.

If you have friends, families, relatives here or if you go to any religious gathering (church, temples...etc), try asking around there.

I would suggest you to adjust your rental budget because at that low price, you may easily fall into rental scams.

How about pods in Richmond? Starting $49/night plus taxes!

Not open yet.. and then it goes up to 70 bucks a night with no privacy.

Missed that part, but has the OP in town yet? Nonetheless, it said will be open end of April (next week?).
