Changing Primary NOC after ITA

Hi guys,

when I created my EE profile (last year), my work experience was as a Lawyer in my home country, so I chose NOC 4112 (lawyer - Class A). It's been a year and 2 days before my profile expiration date, I got the ITA for Canadian Experience Class.

The big problem is that I came to Canada to change my profession and during this year I got 1 year experience as a Chef (NOC 6321 - Class B) and the points I got for Canadian experience is in this new NOC (chef).

Could you help me with these 3 questions:
1) I received the ITA and the system allows me to change my primary occupation NOC; Should I change the primary NOC on my application to PR or should I just leave it the way it is and keep going with my application?

2) Do you guys think the visa officer might think I am trying to manipulate the points?

3) Should I decline and redo my EE profile with the new NOC?

This is not a problem.

It will have no impact on your application. You can change it if you want; if you do, just write a brief explanation about the change (like you did above).

2) Do you guys think the visa officer might think I am trying to manipulate the points?
Are you? LOL, since it will have no impact on your points, I'm not sure why they would think this. Some people who cannot make the language test requirements for NOC A/O occupations have tried to "downgrade" to an NOC B and have gotten caught. I expect that this is not an issue in your case : )

3) Should I decline and redo my EE profile with the new NOC?
No need.

Hi Rizlene,

I ended up not changing anything and not writing a LOE. I was just too scared if I write anything he will start looking for something to turn me down. And, since I know I am not doing anything wrong, I decided to go with it.

You got the PR with Primary NOC 4112 (lawyer - Class A) which in Employment requirements shows:
  • Two to three years of undergraduate studies or, in Quebec, completion of a college program and A bachelor's degree from a recognized law school and Successful completion of the bar examination and completion of a period of articling are required.
  • Licensing by the provincial or territorial law society is required.
And you got the PR?

I am in the same boat right now with another NOC 2151-ARCHITECTS and I don´t know if I should change my NOC or remain with the same primary NOC as before ITA?
  • Completion of a three-year internship under the supervision of a registered architect is required.
  • Completion of the architect registration examination is required.
  • Registration with the provincial association of architects in the province of work is required.

Thank you very much. Your experience could be an amazing help.

Hi pecanada2019.
Did you change your NOC. I also created my profile with NOC 2151 Architects I have experience in this NOC back home and added my Canadian NOC as second job, but now I have completed one year experience in Canada and I also got ITA in CEC category. So should I change my primary NOC which is 2151 to Canadian experience NOC which is 2253.
