I believe it's different. I had a friend who got PR last year saying she received pictures from cic which she didn't submit in application package. They have there way of doing background check

Question! When you receive an email saying your application has been forward to the Visa office for further processing is that an aor2
AOR2 is an email coming from the place where your application has been transferred, its like AOR1 acknowledgement that they have your application.

But I've seen some post /reference that an email saying your application is forwarded to Visa office for further processing can be considered as AOR2 as not everyone is receiving an email coming from the place where your application has been transferred..

Thanks @Jessieroberts12 , @Marcy1 , & @alaria !!

Congratulations! I'm amazed with your patience! :) This is absolutely unfair that some get their AORs (and everything after that) in a very short time, whereas some have to wait 2-3 times more than the current average. Ideally we all should be just one consistent line of applicants with strict first-come-first-served basis. Unfortunately it's not the case, and sometimes it's next to impossible to understand CIC's logic when they issue some AORs (as yours) 30 days after they should have done that. Do they actually put some applications on a shelf and wait until the thick layer of dust emerges? o_O
Yeah, we felt left behind as everyone else was moving forward. To make ourselves feel better, we kept thinking that there are loads of people along with us that didn't add their name to the spread sheet due to no update, or not knowing about this form.
