Indian PCC for NRI on a trip to India

Hello,

I have just started the initial process for Spousal Sponsorship of my fiance. One of the documents we are trying to get is the Police Clearance Certificate.

My fiance is an Indian Citizen who has been living in Malaysia for the last several years. She is thus an NRI.

She is currently in India for a month as we are getting married end of this month.

Can she apply for Indian Police Clearance from India (Mumbai) while she is there or is it necessary that she apply from the Indian Embassy in Malaysia ??


If the answer to the above question is 'Yes'. then:

The address on her Passport is of her home in a different Indian City - Bangalore while she is currently in Mumbai for the wedding.

So can she apply for the PCC from Mumbai ?

Please help me understand our options in this tricky scenario.

She will need a PCC from Malaysia as well. As to how to get it from India, I'm not sure.

May I ask how long to get the PCC from Malaysia?
