Greetings...
The story
I am from a visa exempt country. I intent to stay in Canada in the future. Hence, I applied for 2 permits.
One is the open work permit from the IEC to give myself a chance to being sponsored by an employer and stay in Canada, to gain enough work experience and apply for PR through EE.
Another is the study permit to earn Canadian education and PGWP, and work, and apply for PR through EE.
The open work permit is being granted luckily, so does the corresponding eTA.
However, the application for the study permit was being on-hold since I was revealed that I have PR status, and I was asked if I should retain the status by applying the PRTD, or to renounce the PR.
I was told that I have been to Canada 20+ years ago when I was 5 with my parents, but they didn't tell me that I entered Canada as a PR, but not as a visitor. Hence, I have not enter Canada since then, which clearly I breach the PR obligation.
In short, very interested that I intent to move to Canada by applying for different kind of visas to give myself a chance to stay, and end up that I didn't know that I was a PR until I submitted the application for the study permit.
My questions:
1. Why I have granted eTA with my open work permit if I have PR status? I am using the same GCkey to apply for both the open work permit and the study permit? CIC should realize that I am the same person.
2. Should I find ways to show that I am intent to stay in Canada when the next time I enter Canada?
3. If the answer is yes for question 2, what should I do?
4. I knew that I breach the PR obligation, but is there any chances that I will be forgiven, or I must renounce my PR status, and find my way to meet the requirements of EE to apply for PR again in the future?
I received the letter for revealing the PR status from my study permit application 15mins before my open work permit from IEC was granted., So does the eTA
This is the first time I post a thread on this forum, I hope I posted at the correct session.
Thank You!
