Hi Guys.

I have been under Security screening for 8 months. May 30th AOR 2018.

With the help of a local MP, I received the latest info from IRC as below:

'waiting for security verification report before final decision'.

For me, this is indifferent from security in progress.. really frustrated.

that's good to know! I hope your security is completed soon. for me, my security is not even started yet May 25th AOR.

When most of the people are getting their PPR and celebrating! people like me are still stuck.

I went to my MP and my eligibility is in process, security not started and medicals expired as of Dec. no update! guess have to wait for months now.

This is just ridiculous. I have no idea how they can treat humans this way. Especially those who have been living and paying taxes in Canada. On the contrary my people who are applying from india are handed PR like hot cakes. Another one of my friends from San Francisco applied and they said he'll get it in 3 months.

i am in the same boat. I called an agent yesterday and asked her if she can send an email to an officer to look into my file. she said at this point i cant do this. They probably finalize your application by end of july and it can be delayed if there is more work load. I asked her about my medical as it is already expired. she said most of the time they usually extend it and if they cnt they will send u an email. So overall i got nothing from agent. Everything is at stake. Me and my husband are going thru lot of stress. we have to start a family and we have to buy a house. we cant do any of this without status in Canada. My point is if you dnt want to give us PR and then what is the point of putting us on hold. I know we are under eligibility review required coz of mistakes we did in our reference letters. but they should ask for additional documents. I am finishing 12 months by end of APRIL. I am trying to stay positive but its not easy to stay positive when u r waiting for this long. sorry for long post but m really fed up..

Yeah its so unfair. I feel you. I am sorry that you and your husband have to go through this.

I lost my job in Nov to a layoff and now no one will hire me because I have a limited work permit. I want to go for an MBA but cant as I am not eligible for an education loan. So much stress and its going to get worse. I am on 10+ months and I thought that I was bad but 12 months is worse.

The worst part is that no MP no online notes nothing works. Agents dont help you. There is no way to appeal or get them to look into our file before they decide to.

I have traveled to many countries and I am afraid that once it comes to security clearance this will drag even further.

we are quite riding the same boat indeed it is so stressful.. if they want something they should ask it.. the wait drives me insane seriously! they are not working on our files and giving PPRs to others who are within 6 months timeframe.. what about us? who will be crossing 11 months soon.. so so frustrating
