from what I have learnt it means you got nothing to worry about if you are indeed not a security risk or never involved in any activity that might endanger the security of this country .

I have been doing some research about all those checks , but I have no answer that tells clearly what all those checks exactly entail .

except security check, I did find this post , and I am quite satisfied with his answer . take a look and hope it will ease your mind , if you have no concern about your past .

Thank you so much for your reply.
Yes, I am not a threat to the security of Canada and I feel much relieved.
Thanks again!

I posted on here a while but giving an update in case there's anyone out there like me!:

OINP Inland applicant (Irish passport)
Nov 30 2017 - Application acknowledged
Apr 6 2018 - Medical requested
Apr 12 2018 - Medical complete
Apr 20 2018 - Medical acknowledged
Nothing since - I'm now in the 17th month?

In the meantime, my OINP expired Feb 2019 and so I now have an extended OINP till 2021.
I'm hoping this doesn't mean my PR will be put to the less urgent pile - I really want my PR!

You've spent more time in Ireland than I then. I'm also female but no worries. Ha

I think based on my and other people timelines, you still need to wait about two months before PPR

Yes, I know. It's exhausting. Personal suggestion, in two weeks from now try to call IRCC. It's a high chance that operator will tell you that your application takes too long and will add a note to your file for the officer. It happened to me and I think my application finally started to move after that.

What do you exactly mean “OINP” expired? Is there an experation date for it?

yes, a Provincial Nomination normally has an end date. It's pretty easy to get an extension though. I applied for a three year nomination but the officer at Niagara ended up only giving me two years (he did comment I would likely have my PR by then - haha yeah right!) so they've extended it for another two.

I thought there was no need for extension as long as I send my complete application package to IRCC within 6 month (I applied through SINP and the nominee certificate is valid for 6 month).

Hmmm, well you might be ok but end up on 'Implied Status' which I was on for in between visas but that means you can work legally and stay here but can't leave the country. SINP might be different though

well it might be different than what it is like in BC . the BC nomination has a valid date for 6 months and it means you have to apply for PR with it within that time . once your application is found complete by CIC and is being processed , it doesn't matter if your nomination had expired or not , you can still apply for bowp with it if your current work permit expires so you can maintain your legal status in Canada .

as for implied status, I am pretty sure that's a different thing we are talking about , and it has nothing to do with wether your nomination is expired or not .
