My advise for you is contact your mp and know what is happening in your file, that’s how you will get a rough idea when can you expect something rather then hoping every day to get any update, it will disappoint you and annoy you a lot. Like I was in the same situation then I asked my mp and he told me that the next bring forward date is 6 May 2019, now atleast I don’t have to expect something before 6 May 2019.
You will get it eventually and you should be thankful that you got dm, here we are 2017 applicants stuck in background checks for almost an year and still don’t know when this going to end. Stay hopeful you will get it soon.

yes, it took long because some people are unlucky in this process, & i was one of them
we have pretty simple case no red flag, it took them exactly 14th month to give pre arrival and then for 6 month i was stuck in bg checks
no red flags as far as i know, no travel history, had mehendi, wedding and valima ceremonys, our daughter was born during this process too
it just luck
and what are the procedures if a child is born during the process? do you have to inform CIC or local visa office ?
