Dear all, good news!!! I received PPR an hour ago. I am truly grateful to all of you and especially to Tobs for all your inspiration and support during the waiting period. I am now off to renew my passport since the CIC asked for at least 12 months validity of the passport wherein I have 8 months. My application details are as follows:

AOR: August 1, 2018
Biometrics: August 30, 2018
Ghost Update 1: November 20, 2018
Ghost Update 2: March 9, 2019
PPR: March 18, 2019

Even in the last week, I was told my Eligibility to be 'Met (twice earlier)/Passed (last call)' and Security to be 'Not Started'.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Congrats!!! :)

Btw why are they asking for 12 months passport validity... I don’t understand I mean isnt it usually 6 months...? Is this a new rule or only specific to your case?

Hello everyone. Just for you all to know that currently my Eligibility and Criminality has been met based on the last conversation I had with the CIC agent and the only pending is Security Check which is yet to begin.

Now, there has been a recent change in terms of my contact address and I just wanted to know if updating my CIC account with the latest address details would result in further delay to my application (no change in my account status since Nov 18) or would my application remain unaffected if I chose to not update the address details. Waiting for your advise on this and thanks in advance.

A merged pdf file is good. Simplest way to merge photos in jpeg is by using paint of MS picture editor.. Let me know if you want to know the how to do things, and I shall explain.
Thank you. I used Www.filesmerge.com and it came out Jpg. The file came out as 4.6MB and I compressed it to 2.5MB. Again. I used smallpdf.com,while the file was pdf with 4.6MB, shrinking it, left it as 423KB, not visible enough, not good. I jettisoned the latter.

I got my GCMS notes and on page 2 it says:
Application assignment
Assigned to: [the visa officer's code name]
Assigned by: [the visa officer's code name]
Due date: 18 December 2018.

What was this due date for? Nothing happened to my file since November so what was supposed to happen by that date in December?

Thats great.. And dont compress it too much, I think 5 MB size is acceptable (just check)... Upload it and you will be fine..

Hi @tobs @asiv and all the experts out there! I appreciate all your expertise and advice. Just a quick question-

My AOR is Aug 3 CEC inland. August 28th I also applied for a study permit extension, which gives me implied status. In December, I got a mail from CIC stating that my SP -EXT was transferred to local VO in Edmonton (i live in Vancouver) for additional verification. I found out that my PR application is in Edmonton as well. It has now been almost 8 months processing for PR and 7 months for study permit extension. Agents advised that the applications are separate and one could be approved before the other. Have you guys heard of cases like this where the PR app is approved before the study permit? I am just wondering why a decision on my SP-Ext hasnt been made as it is well over the processing time? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thank you!
Yes. Although not study permits but Work permits. It's the same principle anyways.
