Raised CSE, was told “background check currently being processes”..and assuming there is a typo...still not sure...it means bcheck in progress or done? (I hope it is security...? as criminally passed long time ago and security was always not started) Any thoughts, anyone? :)
This refers to security. As soon as it is done, you will have the PPR.

Does IRCC check the information provided in personal history? Like information of syblings ?
Usually not. But if in case your siblings or parents decide to apply for a visa or PR later, they will list you in their application and this can cause issues if the information is not there or incorrect.

@legalfalcon hello Sir, we finally got the golden e-mail PPR :) just one last question...do you know if they send the passport to Chandigarh India for visa or New Delhi???? everyone's saying that for spousal applications it's always new delhi but my husband's passport was sent to chandigarh and it's in processing with the IRCC....do you know how long do they take to send the passport back?>> please let me know////// and thank you so very much for all your help.....god bless!
It does not matter where the passport is processed. It depends on work load distribution. Usually it is Delhi, but it can be Chandigarh too. After you submit your application, it takes 2-5 weeks for the passport to be returned.

No. Usually if your have a PhD or are pursuing a higher education in sciences, then IRCC will ask for this infor for BGC. This is routine.
I am a general physician by profession and i was asked for these documents in feb ,which I submitted the very next day. After that I received RPR fee request.
So it means I won’t be put into long security checks,if i was asked fo these documents.
Sorry to bother you,as in 1 thread people were saying that asking for these documents cause significant delay that’s why i was concerned.

@legalfalcon Hello Sir, Would you be so kind to advise me what to do?

My AOR is July 9 2018, it seems like it was going to be "speedy ppr" before the background check actually started. My criminality (according to MP) was started on July 16th (Just 7 days after AOR) and since that day there is no movement. My current status is Eligability passed, Criminality in progress, Security not initiated.

I am FST-IN applicant and I live in Canada since June 2015, when i applied I only submitted one pcc for me and one for my wife, these were both from our home country.

I've ordered GCMS notes on Jan 25th 2019 (not received yet, but not sure if there will be any detailed information about criminality checks). I called/contacted MP few times for update, but nothing else than the above status or "everything is good with your application" etc. from Agents.

Would raising CSE or e-mailing ottawa do any good? Maybe I should get Canadian PCC and upload it somehow?

If you could kindly advise that would be great.

You should have received GCMS by now. Send them an email. It won't show anything in Criminality other than PASSED but that's all you need to know anyway. Criminality usually gets PASSED only if Eligibility is passed. Within minutes of passing Eligibility criminality is passed.

No harm in sending PCC. In fact it's good. Just send it.

Thanks for your reply, I've emailed them about my notes and they replied that they will prioritize them, so i am expecting them next week. The thing is I don't think it will show me Criminality as passed if it's still in progress. We shall see, probably next week.

@Thay my eligibility is recommend passed since june 2018, however up till today criminality is in process, according to GCMS notes security havent started, so yes
Hi Linda,

Again congratulations on your PPR. I am similar applicant it seems, so if you could share with me when did you last time inquiry about your status before PPR? I am asking because you said your criminality is still in progress on Feb 24 and you got PPR on Feb 26 - honestly that is crazy. I called them today and my criminality is still in progress, but your case is giving me hope then!

@Thay I know i was quite shocked as well, we did inquire regards our application with local MP, we sent an email to MP asking for help with our application, after few days they called back and asked to pop in and sign consent form, after that they told us that they will get back to us within 10 days which they did, status remained same , they told us that our application can take up to the year and they can check status of our application in april, however after conversation with MP, within few days we got ghost update and ppr email, so to be clear our criminality never went to passed.
My advice would be contact Your local MP to inquire on behalf of you, why application is taking so long and it might trigger some movement..!!!

You emailed ATIP people and they responded to you within hours saying they will prioritize your GCMS notes? Or did it take them few days to respond? Because yesterday you didn't mention that.

For criminality you see PASSED. If you don't see PASSED the rest is all the same anyway. Criminality does NOT take long. Security check or Background Check is what take up to a year.

  1. Hi,
I submitted my application on December 07, 2018 got a request to pay RPRF on Feb 12th, 2019 which I paid the same day.
My application status says: Medical passed, no biometrics needed, no interview needed. (We'll let you know if that changes).
    We're checking your eligibility requirements.

I got a work permit just yesterday and I added it to my profile and I'm currently in Canada.

The thing is my medical exam will expire end of April and they already said medical passed, will they finish the background check (knowing that they've kind of done it for the work permit) before the medical expires or will they make me take another one and then my application will be delayed for another 3 months?

Please let me know what you think.

Hi guys!
I hope all is well. I recently got my latest GCMS record for my permanent residency application under the protected person category.
Under Security there was one subcategory named "security screening" and the result for that one was "favourable".
Under Criminality there was also only one subcategory and the result for the one was "no reportable trace".
Do you guys think this means that my background check is now completed?
Thanks in advance!

Hi @legalfalcon and everyone.

I raised a CSE asking specifically about my Security.

The response is the below:

'Good day

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.

Furthermore, the background verifications are currently in process.

While the processing times may vary with each case, we will make all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible.

Rest assured that we will communicate with you once a decision is taken.''

Considering my criminality was passed in last December, is it possible to believe that the above statement is related to security?!?!

Ps:Considering I also have a RR for POF (not submitted any additional info, neither any ADR requested so far). In other words, would be possible to have security ongoing while eligibility under Review required?

AOR 5 Sept

Cheers!

That is a generic response they give to everyone when security is going on. You would have got that response regardless of how you asked as long as you asked for status of the file.

Criminality and Security are different things.
