Hello,

My wife is US citizen and Iama canadian resident. she just moved to canada and we would like to start the sponsorship process! although I have been told that she wont get the work permit because she has to go through the medical exam which she will
not be able to do while pregnant!

Also will she be able to get the goverment health inssurance before getting her PR card

need help

Usually no. But it depends on which province you are living in.

She wants to work while she is expecting?

I don't know if the OWP will still be grand if you cannot go for a full medical check. You may still be able to apply inland and get OWP in 4 months.

You will need someone who knows about Quebec healthcare to answer your question about medical coverage.

Sorry my previous apply for "No" is for your second question about gov health insurance". Not for work permit.

If she is a US citizen and pregnant she should remain in the US where she has medical coverage either private or through the state. You can pay for her healthcare if you have savings but you never know what will happen during a pregnancy so it is hard to anticipate costs. You seem to be a protected person who very recently got PR. Did you get married or live together before you received PR?
