In-land Permanant resident application sent in, Visa extention denied. What now?

My heart is racing and i can't feel my legs. I am situated with my common law spouse in Ontario.I sent in my spousal sponsorship application and visa extension (1 year) in January and my visa expired February.

Is there anything i can do to avoid leaving Canada? Whats my best course of action to avoid uprooting my life and living separately (At unreasonable expense) from my spouse in U.S.A? Should i be forced to leave Canada, this will be devastating to us financially and emotionally.

Edit: I'm hyper paranoid some immigration officers are going to force me out before im prepared. Please relieve me of this fear. Do they do this?

Did you apply for PR inland and include an open work permit application with the inland PR application?

I applied inland, but no work permit. Someone suggested this and i decided against it. Did i screw myself over by not including open work permit? (Thanks so much for reply, though)

Yes - you may have. At the very least, you've made your situation a great deal more complicated and messy. Not sure why you ignored that advice - that was a very poor decision.

As of now, you are in Canada without status / illegally. I would recommend that you apply to restore your status back to visitor as soon as you can. You should include evidence to show that you have applied for spousal sponsorship inland and have paid all of the related fees. You'll also want to show funds to demonstrate how you will support yourself in Canada while you wait for your application to be processed (either your own funds or your partner's funds).

If restoration is approved and your status in Canada is one again legal, you should submit the open work permit (the open work permit gives you status in Canada while you wait for the application to be processed without having to apply to extend your stay). If restoration is refused, then you can try to remain in Canada without status and ride out the processing of your inland application - and hope CBSA doesn't decide to remove you.

That's basically where things stand. Again, you should apply to restore your status as soon as you can.

How do i retroactively apply for open work permit? Keep in mind, ive never held a job in my life and don't intend to use the work permit. If need be, i can make an earnest effort to do so.

I'm confronted with new options and i want to be sure i get these correct or i can't understand the right choice. On imm5708e it asks

Section 1. #7: Current country or territory of residence: Canada. "Status": ______ Should i put "Foreign national" because my visitor status is gone? Would "visitor" be incorrect?

Also, should i request only 6 months instead of 1 year again to reduce risk of rejection? I feel requesting 1 year might have been a bad thing.

And should i include my rejection letters "UIC" number in the application? Part 1 of course.

Please answer this one >>>Questions: "A) Have you ever remained beyond the validity of your status, attended school without authorization or worked without authorization in Canada?": I answer no, because it's still the same day. Please let me know if this is incorrect due to my status expiring feb, because im being ordered to leave *today*.<<<< Please help
