Immigration Queries

Hello,

I have created my Express Entry profile and have some questions, hopefully someone who has gone through this might be able to answer.

  • If I make my wife the primary application, does she need to be working? She is currently a full-time stay at home mom but did work for few years 5 years back. Is there any criteria on the applicant's current work situation.
  • If we get an employer in Canada who is willing to provide a job offer with LMIA, do we have to stick to that employer once we get the immigration, are there any rules related to that, what if we don't join that employer at all, can they report to CIC.
  • Final, question, I am also exploring the option of pursuing a graduate certificate, it's a 6 months course, I have a bachelor's degree, would this certificate make me eligible to "Two or more certificates", is there a criteria that the certificate has to be more than a specified number of months.

Thanks for reading and appreciate any help.

1- She doesn't have to be working now. As long as her claimed experience have happened in the past 10 years then it's absolutely acceptable.
2- If you land in Canada on work permit visa then yes you have to stick to them. But if you used this job offer to immigrate through Express Entry then it's perfectly acceptable to not work for them after landing. However, this may come into effect if IRCC found out and you may be considered for removal as might been seen by them as only taking this offer to get the 600 points and fraud the system. So I highly don't recommend it.
3- I can't weigh on this , I will wait for others to do so

Thank you for your response, very helpful.

For # 2, I was not able to find any documentation which describes if this is illegal, don't see any mention about working for that employer for 1 year.

If you actually were to be employed and not skip working for them from day 1 , then yes its perfectly legal but try to spend sometime there so that it would appear normal. IRCC won't dig into your files unless warranted by random checks or when you renew your PR card , apply for citizenship or any other transaction that involve background check on your case
