Hi,

My friend has graduated from college with diploma and he started job in his field which was a noc category b job. He did job for 6 months and then his company went bankrupt so he was terminated. Now he is doing another job which is also a noc b category job but not in his field. He got this second job after 1 month gap after he lost his previous job. So my question is will his previous job experience be counted towards showing 1 year experience for PR? Please explain me what are the specific rules for the Canadian experience class ? And what will happen in this scenario!

All the rules are on the IRCC website.

"Your work experience can be in 1 or more NOC 0, A or B jobs." There is no "continuity" requirement.

I was in a partially similar situation, however, I had a 6 month gap between the 2 jobs I claimed CRS points for. You can add up as many jobs disregarding any gaps as long as you're confident you can prove each and every experience through a reference letter, stubs etc.

The best thing for you to do is to create an express entry profile for your friend whenever you think they might have finished a year of work experience. Its pretty normal for someone to have gaps in their jobs as well as have jobs worked for in different fields.
