The next is the photo specs. CGI says no to the photo with white background, doesn't say anything about the background color that should be used. BLS checklist says white/off-white is fine. They don't say how many photos you require for the application. Is it one hard copy and a digital you submit with the online form I think. Not sure, what these guys are upto !!!

You spend about 250+ 425 + 60. Surrender, OCI and courier. Roughly about $800 for fees/services which is exorbiantly high. I'm pretty sure they can do a lot better.

For the DD or money order since I have 4 application can I make single DD . Also what proof of address to provide for wife and daughter who do not have driving licence and since we are staying in rental apt with all inclusive in rent I do not have any utility bill.

Do they keep the parents passport with them for complete 3-4 months pf processing time? I am travelling in april to india and will be needing my passport for that.

I believe you can make it a single demand draft (as long as the amount is correct). I decided to play it safe and take individual DD for my wife and I (Since my bank doesn't charge me a fee for demand drafts, it didn't hurt).

Proof of address- I think a Bank statement should suffice for your wife. Check with BLS, but they might accept rental lease as proof of address (It's not mentioned in the checklist. but thats what my cousin in USA did last year).

If your daughter is minor, I think your address proof and your wife's address proof (assuming your wife has her bank statement or other acceptable address proof ) should be sufficient. (I am not 100% sure of this as well, so I would advise you to wait for others to post their views or call BLS for exact details).

Yesterday when I checked the status, it showed original documents dispatched via courier and there was Purolator airway number. I received the courier but it was the return of original COPR document. Will the OCI tracking status get updated with next steps on OCI document with another Purolator airway number? Thanks

If i remember correctly- the next status change would be "(Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping)" i.e to indicate the transit from Indian consulate to BLS centre, and then it will be dispatched to you via purolator.

About 20 days after i got back the original documents.
Jan 14th 2019- Applied for OCI
Jan 24th 2019- Got back the Surrendered/Cancelled Indian passport
Jan 29th 2019- Got back COPR and OCI acknowledgement
(I am not sure, maybe the above 2 order is the other way around)
Feb 19th 2019- Received OCI

I applied on 17th jan 2019 for oci. document required so i sent on 25 jan .. but still i m waiting for my OCI .

and My wife status is: Original documents are Ready for Collection
what is the different between this two status??
what is the meaning of , Original documents Ready for Collection??

U WILL GET YOUR DOCUMENT ON SAME TIME IN ONE COURIER . SO DONT WORRY .. FOR ME STILL SHOWING SAME AS YOU AS OF TODAY BUT THE FACT IS I RECEIVED MY ORIGINAL DOCUMENT ALMOST ONE MONTH AGO.

I am not too sure, but it looks like the processing is complete. Did you opt for pick up or courier?

Did you check the status in Indian Govt OCI page (check post# 1406 for details.)

I googled your status and got hits for a few people who had posted the same status in this thread. Check out page 84 (Posts 1254 and 1255).

You could probably PM them to check what happened next. Good luck!

My husband has his OCi am I eligible to get an OCI through him as a spouse or should I apply through my parents as they were both born in India.
