@Bryanna Hi! I keep posting on different threads cause new things keep on happening with mom and dads application.
So my mother who is 63 submitted her finger prints on March the 6th in New Delhi VFS office. Just now, I got an email update on her application that has asked for Repeat Biometrics.
It says: "Based on Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)’s records, you have provided your fingerprints and photograph. Unfortunately, upon further verification, it has been determined that there is an issue with the quality of the fingerprints and/or photograph that you provided.As a result, you must have your fingerprints scanned and photograph taken again. You are not required to pay a new biometric fee."
Poor thing will have to go back to New Delhi for a repeat submission of biometrics. What is interesting is that she had mentioned that she has had problems with finger prints in the past and i simply dismissed it. I did tell her that she should make sure that her biometrics are done properly.. She told me yesterday that the individual who did her biometrics at New Delhi VFS- told her that he had added a note on her application mentioning this issue as well.
My question to you is:
1. What if her biometrics are not accepted this time as well and
2. What can she do to ensure her biometrics are recorded properly at VFS- New Delhi. Does the person who records this in the Delhi Office already see what is acceptable/and not? Could he have done a more thorough job of trying to get better biometrics?
3. What are my other options for her? Does CIC not consider the fact that she is 63?

She's still in Delhi, right? Fortunately, IRCC/VFS have been quick to inform her about this.
But, VFS staff would have known immediately that her biometrics taken were not of an acceptable quality.
The quality of fingerprints deteriorates with the age of the person.... or if someone has been working in a area that calls for extensive usage of his/her hands... or if the person has a medical condition.
After she gives her biometrics this time, she must stay back for a couple of days in Delhi.... just in case,
It's strange that VFS staff didn't realize that her biometrics weren't okay. It's evident instantly.
BTW VFS staff know whether or not biometrics are okay when taken for visa applications for other countries
She must give her biometrics again + confirm with VFS that her fingerprints are okay.
The exception to giving biometrics is for more than 79 years of age or less than 14 years (minor whose fingerprints have't fully developed)

@Bryanna, should my mother get a letter from a dermatologist which i could submit to the Visa Officer visa IRCC Web Form anyway. She is going to travel to New Delhi again form Indore to go submit her biometrics. Although she is not sure it will work. She apparently has always had issues. Wonder how familiar you are with the Indian Adhar Card (the Indian ID card). Seems like she wasnt able to get a decent finger print at that time as well. I am not even sure if CIC would accept poor biometrics at all along with a dermatologist letter. (this is one problem i had no problem i would encounter).She's still in Delhi, right? Any reason why her fingerprints are not sharp? Her work or is it a medical condition?
Not sure if a letter from the dermatologist will work on it's own if there are no back-up reasons for the worn out fingerprint ridges
She has taught under privileged kids all her life. She works a lot with books (loves books). And i read somewhere that might do it. But again, I am not sure. Will ask her to go see a dermatologist anyway and see if this is a medical condition. So bummed out.
That could be the reason in her case.... although worn out fingerprint ridges are more likely the case for people who actually work with paper (for example, printing industry).

I recommend she gives her biometrics again as requested by IRCC. If she does not give her fingerprints, her application could be refused for non-compliance with IRPA. Let her try to give her fingerprints one more time

Hi there.....It seems like we are in the same boat...I have applied for FSW(submitted online) ...After my biometrics, I got the exact same emails....I am trying to get information from different forums....but haven't got the exact explanation.....please suggest something when you got an update....Or if anyone else could help..........will be appreciated....thanks
