My employer is currently filling out the business profile and job offer info on the Employer Portal for a closed LMIA-exempt work permit under an OINP nomination. I understand a $230 compliance fee is required.
My employer prefers to save time for the accounting department by asking me to use my credit card to pay the compliance fee when they're submitting the information on the Employer Portal.
I have questions about this. I feel like it would look badly on me in terms of trustworthiness if the payment for an employer-filed form is made using the applicant's credit card. Like, that feels like I'm opening myself up to a compliance audit of some sort. Am I overthinking this? Should I just suck it up and pay the fee using my card? Or should I ask my employer to use their own account to make the payment?
