Hi Everyone,

My wife and I are planning to apply for express entry profile. With my wife as primary applicant, we have 461 CRS points.

I don't see a challenge in receiving ITA. However, I do have a doubt which I would like to clarify.

My wife has more than 3 years of working experience. However due to her health condition she has not been working since August 2015. Would this be a problem and also if we should provide any explanation while applying ITA?

Look forward to hearing from anyone soon.

Firstly, as long as the work experience has been acquired within the last 10 years (for FSW, which I'm assuming you're going for), there are no issues. Even with health condition.

Second, if you are the Principal Applicant, do note that you're spouse's foreign experience (i.e Outside Canada) doesn't give any points at all. So there is no purpose in mentioning it in work history for spouse. Mention it only in personal activity, which is a section that will appear after you receive ITA.

If your spouse is the principal applicant, then yeah, mention in work history all her experiences for which she is claiming points, and therefore have all necessary work proof. The rest goes in personal activity.

P.S: Just throwing this out there. I don't know what health condition your spouse has, but you will both have to undergo a medical exam. Depending on what it is, she should mention it to the doctor.

Thank you so much for the prompt response.

This really helps!

I understand the medical part. She has ulcerative colitis so it shouldn't be a problem.
