Say your status expires 3/07/19. Can you apply for a visitor extension on 3/06/19?

Also, if it says "expires 3/07/19" does that mean you are in status on 3/07/19 or is 3/06/19 your last day of status?

Your extension application must reach IRCC before your status expires. So you can apply on 3/06/2019 - but only if you apply online. Mail won't work.

Expires 3/07/2019 means you are in status on 3/07/2019 - you are out of status as of midnight on 3/08/2019.

Thank's for the thorough and clear answer Scylla. One more question, I have done the extension before but, when in the questionaire it asks "will you be accompanying a family member in who has status in Canada?". My Common Law partner is a Citizen, I am currently living with them. Do I tick "yes" with this, or no?
